Silverstone SG08 PSU

Hi everyone.

I am considering buying the Silverstone SG08 case, it comes with a custom 600W PSU with 120mm fan.

I have found no reviews of this PSU, anyone here can tell me if it's a silent (or very very quiet) unit?

Is it possible to remove this PSU and use it with an external picoPSU?

Thanks.

Antec HCP-1200 - any good or quiet?

Hi people. Does anyone here have experience with the Antec HCP-1200? Hardocp has a review, but I'm sure they don't have the same test methodology regarding noise as spcr: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/10/24/antec_high_current_pro_1200w_power_supply_review/1 So, is it any good? Is it quiet like...

Swiftech H20-320 HD Edge, quiet or not?

Hi people. I am building a system with a Corsair Obsidian 700D case, Core I7 2600K CPU and Radeon 6970 GPU, and I want to use a Swiftech H20-320 HD Edge to cool both the CPU and GPU. Are the fans or the pump quiet or noisy? Swiftech rates the fan as 38 dB, which is "Subdued, Quiet office or library;...

Re: Akasa Enigma - How to fit an optical drive inside?

I don't think that way You're (obviously) welcome: personally I'd be scary about "The Enigma completely failed to keep our single core Atom board anywhere near safe operating temperatures when under load and if we’d left it to run would simply have cooked the hardware installed into it." . Have a g...

Re: Akasa Enigma - How to fit an optical drive inside?

Do you know the maximum cpu cooler height that will fit into this case? It's written in those Bit-Tech articles, the absolute maximum should be under 37mm... ...however, why do you want to use "...one of the most horrid cases to ever fit a basic system into..." ? I don't think that way. IMO, the ca...

Re: Akasa Enigma - How to fit an optical drive inside?

The supplied bracket along with the drive is blocked by the power supply and sata cables underneath them Perhaps a 24 Pin ATX Power Extension Cable will help and SATA cables come with right angle connectors. I will try that. Do you know the maximum cpu cooler height that will fit into this case?

Re: Akasa Enigma - How to fit an optical drive inside?

Has anyone here successfully installed an optical drive in this case? How? Maybe you have got a not compatible board. Give a look here: http://www.bit-tech.net/blog/2009/03/27/revisiting-akasa-s-enigma/ Thanks for the answer. After reading that review, I think I'm gonna stick to my external drive.....

Akasa Enigma - How to fit an optical drive inside?

Hi people. I just bought an Akasa enigma mini-itx case and an Intel D525MW motherboard. I really liked the case, but I couldn't fix my optical drive inside! The supplied bracket along with the drive is blocked by the power supply and sata cables underneath them, and even applying a lot of force to p...

Thanks!

But what do you mean that I need to "fix" the fans? It´s not broken.
gb115b wrote:compressed air

you can buy cans of it.

you need to fix the fans though, as if you blow the air over them you can damage the fan

PSU with 120mm fan works with desktop case?

Hi!

In a PSU with 120mm fan, the fan is mounted on the top or bottom of the PSU?

It´s intake or exhaust?

Can I use it on a desktop case or it´s just for tower cases?

The mobo has only an ATX power connector, so I will add the Silverstone fanless PSU. I am currently using a Fujitsu 18GB 10K RPM SCSI and pretend to swap for a IDE card reader with a Sandisk or Lexar 8GB CF card. This don´t produce many heat as an HDD, right? I would think that the CPU should be ea...

Thanks all for the answers.

So, can I go completly passive with a good heatsink with fan removed (like the Nexus AXP-3200) for the CPU, a fanless PSU, no case fan, and HD on smartdrive 2002 enclosure, or it´s too much risky?

Or... at least one quiet case fan?

Hi! The computer is located 90cm (about 3ft) from my bed, that´s why I tought of using the sonic tower, even if it´s overkill. :) If I had the money, I changed the HD for a Flash Drive... :) If you think I really need airflow inside the case, I can add a Papst 8412NGLLE fan, wich is really quiet a...
