Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
Anandtech reviewed the new Streacom FC10 case: Streacom's FC10 and Nano150: Building a Fanless Ivy Bridge HTPC What's interesting is that they say (with a 55W TDP CPU): ... it must be noted that we have mounted the Sapphire HD 7750 Ultimate in the PCIe slot and also connected a flexible PCIe riser t...

Can't anybody make clear what's the difference between the Samsung 830 and Samsung 840 pro in real-life situations? This is the closest i think thou not exactly real-life: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6328/samsung-ssd-840-pro-256gb-review/4 http://www.anandtech.com/show/6328/samsung-ssd-840-pro-25...

Seasonic Platinum Fanless 520 W Power Supply Review
Superb. Probably the new champion here.
Those room temp are insane.
I'll wait for spcr review before ordering it, I know at 230V it will have even higher efficiency but i'm curious just how high
Anxiously waiting for Mike's review

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
I dug arround the web for additional info regarding the FC10 case. Very interesting. On a news article on anandtech.com, "Ganesh T S" one of the anandtech staff people and the author of this news comments the following: (you can see it here: Streacom Updates Passive HTPC Chassis Lineup with FC9 and ...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
Found another good candidate for the discrete graphics card, a low profile one, good for fitting inside of such a small case albeit it's a max. 130W TDP part: AFOX Radeon HD 7850 Low Profile AF7850-2048D5L1 Remove the factory cooling system, attach the heatpipes from HFX and voila, you have a very s...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
How come Streacom make no mention of graphics card cooling? Is the graphics card set of heatpipes a separate option? Yeah, it's a wasted opportunity from Streacom ... they only use and advertise the right part of the case as a passive heatsink whereas the left part is unused and unadvertised as a p...

I couldn't see his post, plain and simple. It was not shown by the forum system hence me asking what were you reffering to. But now...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
Forgive me for being a bit sceptical here but if the FC10 is only designed for a 95W CPU and makes no mention of graphics cooling, how is a 170W graphics card possibly going to be kept cool? I'm sorry but I dont understand what you're saying. Did anyone in this topic mentioned FC10 before? I dont s...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
Hi and thanks again for your time. So if I can dream of miniATX cases then i won't be needing a miniATX motherboard (17x17cm)? Or can one install a microATX motherboard (25x25cm) in a miniATX case? I ask this because that Lian Li Q18 is a miniATX case and so far i've been eyeing one microATX motherb...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
Thanks again for finding the time to help me with your precious knowledge, this is much appreciated. Regarding the CPU : I searched the net and I was thinking of choosing the i7-3770T, a 4-core CPU that has a max TDP of 45W. Or if this is too much then maybe the i5-3470T, a 2-core CPU that has a max...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
To all: thank you for your kind replies, you are all very nice. So, as individual components the parts can be fanless but when put together in a system they cannot run fanless unless it's a very very low power one on which you cannot even have a mild-gaming experience. I'll wait for the new Seasonic...

100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?
Hello guys, I'm thinking of building a completely fanless PC, it will be used at home (internet, office work, movies, moderate gaming etc) When I say moderate gaming i'm talking about 1680x1050 and not shooters, racers or other fast pacing games, just some (a)RPGs ... right now i'm a big fan of Path...
