Sorry I misunderstood your first post. You could try to enable AAM on your drive. Use the Hitachi Feature Tool program available on this free boot cd.

I have the same problem and its the two top Tri-cool fans causing the problem, because its gone when I unplug them. Ill replace them with YLs in a few hours and post back the results.

I currently use the KuFormula VF1, that does the job very well at high speed (very noisy), and at roughly 6ishV it is quieter than my Yate-loons but it does take a performance hit. I have just ordered the new Accelero S1, and will be installing it on my eVGA 7900GS this weekend. I will report back ...
