I would say better to lose all hope straight away to get it over fast, instead of prolonged misery from missed expectations. New layout is such fashion excrement from those with head firmly in illegal substance smoke cloud and feet above passenger jet cruising altitude, that I wouldn't trust such pe...

Re: Adding More Controlable Fan Headers

Another thing you could do is add in something like an Aquero 6, meant more for watercooling as it has a lot of options for that, but inherently it can control a lot of fans DC/PWM/RPM, even has its own software to run the curves with different sensors, and fan can be stopped or start (depending on...

Re: Adding More Controlable Fan Headers

When I say three fan headers I am not including the two CPU headers which are consumed by two CPU fans. There's no reason to run CPU heatsink's fans at different speeds, so they can be as well connected to one header using splitter. Even if header has weaker than usual 1A max output two fans would ...

Like all manufacturing processes, there will always be tolerances and inconsistencies. It is the luck of the draw. Well, Noctua sure seems to have evenly crap quality. Both NF-P12 bundled with NH-U12P and NF-F12 bundled with NH-U12S are the absolutely worst fans I've ever touched in their vibration...

Yeah - just wanted to set up the threads for when the aftermarket cards do come out...whenever.. That said, looks like AMD still has to throw a lot of watts at the card to get it up near GTX 1080 performance. At first glance, it looks like the Vega 56 is closer to the sweet spot for the fab/archite...

Re: Like top tier, but Bronze/semi and cheaper?

If you want quiet staying PSU its capacitors are wrong place to go cheap. Cheap capacitors don't like heat to stay reliable. And lower efficiency PSUs themselves generate more heat to cool. http://www.silentpcreview.com/A_Better_Way_to_Compare_PSU_Efficiency So of course almost all 80+ Bronze PSUs u...

Little late but just in case others are choosing UPS:
On-line UPS needs cooling all the time because both battery charger and inverter are operating always and hence in need of cooling.
So when caring about noise line-interactive UPS is better choise.

However as the 775 and 1366 sockets are obsolete LGA775 was basically completely obsolete already two years ago and similarly Sandy Bridge E also made LGA1366 and its Nehalems old tech. Good to see review of this very interesting heatsink. Though what this review misses is comparison to NH-U12P. Re: Zalman ZM-1000W, Seasonic X1050, or fanless ?

I wonder what caused the coil whine ? The ZM-1000W PSU itself ? Or would the ZM-1000W give different/unstable current/voltage ? Which could cause certain components on the motherboard or videocard start to whine ? There surely appears to be many causes for coil whine. Basically every part with powe...

I'm intending to upgrade from current Q9550@3.7GHz/1.2V to Haswell in summer so I'm definitely interested in seeing results for NH-U12S compared to NH-U12P. If size were same one additional heatpipe would quite surely give advantage at least with higher heat loads. But now heatsink is inch thinner i...
