Intake fan 140mm
Hello, Next week the Lancool PC-K9 will arrive. This case has two front fans 140mm and one outtake 120mm. I already have one Nexus 120mm fan @7v which is almost dead silent. Now I want to exchange the stock Lancool 140mm fans in the front with some silent case fans. I looked @Scythe slipstream 140mm...

Re: Scythe Kozuti Low Profile CPU Heatsink
I have a mini itx case M-350.
I would like to mount this cpu fan in my case. Is it ok to let this cpu run on 7v all the time and how is that possible with a PWM (4pin header fan)?
Regards

Re: GELID Icy Vision Dual Fan VGA Cooler
Ok, I just ordered this cooler. Thanks for the review SPCR. In the review it is clear that @5v the fans are inaudible while @12v they are a bit loud. I was thinking by myself why not use my old zalman fanmate 2 with this gpu cooler as the fanmate can as low as 5v. Is there one wire for both fans to ...

Re: Mini ITX case M350 cooler
Hi MikeC, Thanks for your reply. The reason that I didn't mount and test it fanless is b/c I can return it now if it haven't been used. I only wanted to know you vision about this cooling project :) So it's really tempting to return it and use the stock cooler from Intel. The only thing this HTPC wi...

Re: Mini ITX case M350 cooler
Ok, I just received the Prolimatech Samuel 17 CPU cooler. I have some questions and would be delighted if some can help me answering. 1) What is the amount of cfm processed by the stock intel cooler? 2) Is 2x 40mm Mini Kaze (2x 13DB) as quiet as the intel stock cooler? 3) Will 2x 40mm on the side of...

Mini ITX case M350 cooler
Hi, I would like to change my stock cooler Core i3-530 for a more advance quiter cooler. This case is so small that the stock Intel cooler exactly fits. I was thinking about the Prolimatech Samuel 17 with a Scythe Slipstream Slim (12mm) This will make it total to 45+12=57mm. I have had the Scythe Bi...

I'm thinking between the Sapphire 5850 Vapor-X or Prolimatech MK-13 in combination with Thermalright VRM-3. After reading the review on http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/prolimatech_mk_13,4.html it literally says that aftermarket coolers specifically built for a VGA card is way better (va...

Hi Mike, Thanks for your comprehensive answer! I'm thinking now about the PCI SATA Card or one of those 8 harddrives being dodgy. Rest of setup is not very power hungry sources; P4 3.2ghz ATI X850XT PE 2x1024MB 2x DVD-RW and some PCI cards. Offtopic: I can buy 10x Nexus 120mm fans for only 30 euro's...

7volt trick damaged Enermax Modu 82+ 625Watt
Hey SPCR's My computer was freezing last weeks. This same freezing problem was here before, but solved by buying another PSU, i.e Enermax Modu 82+. Now I have the same freeze problem after 6 months, I was reading what could be the problem. Now I have read tons of articles about the 7volt trick I'm u...

Read the Anandtech review today, it looks like another brilliant PSU from enermax. If they made a lower power version with a slower fan it would be ideal. Incredible efficiency from around 200w on these models is very nice, but even a super high end system will use less than that in idle which is h...

Have you tried using a different slot (or different slots) for the cards in your system? I've seen weird things happen in one config only when specific slots were used at the same time. I've also had a freeze issue with loud sounds coming from my speakers with a SB Live card that wasn't seated righ...

We already know that the sata card triggered the freezing. Does the beeping happen even without it? It could be 2 different issues, driver or irq related. You could free some irqs by disabling uneeded devices in the bios, some motherboards also allow you to change the irq assignement for some onboa...

You say it has a peeptone (beeping?) when it freezes? Sounds like a temperature alarm to me. Go into your BIOS and look at the temperatures and if there are any STOP or ALARM features that will sound if your PC reaches a certain temp. Maybe the hard drives are blocking airflow and your PC is overhe...

The reviewers should put this cooler on top of the list for cooling your VGA card.
I thought this cooler is way better CLICK Thermalright HR-03 with a Nexus 92mm fan @5v.
Is the HR-03 kicked from the no.1 place?
