2 questions from the indecisive

I love silence yet i also play games, mainly shooters so lagging is a major annoyance. The problem lies in the fact that i rea...

new agp card vs new system build (a cheapskates paradox)

alright, i have saved up a bit of money expecting to build a new system this fall, based around c2d or whatever amd brings to fight the c2d. now i know there are countless examples of systems based on c2d so i won't ask you to critique my rig whin i can just browse others. my problem is, as the titl...

hello, my board is an intel d865 perl witha 3.0ghz p4 cooled by a thermalright Hr-01 which works perfectly despite its only configuration turns it into a psu bbq but thats not my problem. the fin spacing on that thermal take looks rather narrow, definatly not ideal for passive cooling (less airflow can get through the fins easily) iam sure the TT makes up for it with sheer size. that size however may put a serious ammount of pressure on the motherboard. the fridge comment was just a rediculous suggestion based off of hunger and the fact that its right next to my desk.

As I sit in my dorm with dual box fans and duke ellingnton competing for tonal supremeacy I think to my self, why cant box fans be manufactured by scythe, nexus, or noctura? Despite the fact that the typical cornerstore 20'' box fan costs 10$ more than a 12cm nexus, i would be willing to pay say 40-...

man those are some cramped quarters your dealing with there. plain and simple, maybe a drill a vent hole over the position of the fan for fresh incoming air and a duct around the card to stop the hot air from making its way back into your system. You also could use a small lateral/crossflow fan such...
