Topic: 7600GT passive + P5W + Ninja: will it fit?

I have a P180, E6600, Gigabyte 965P-DS4, Scythe Ninja and a Gigabyte 7600GT passive.

No problems about fitting it in. Different motherboard than you, but they're all reasonably similar in layout.

I have a scythe ninja on a E6600 running passively, ie 0db, and it's running plenty cool at 20C at idle.

Can't speak about the others though.

Thanks,

Those temps are for idle, so will have to test them at load once I've finished installing. I don't know much, but did get the impression the Tri-cools weren't the quietest, so not overly worried. But it's good to know, there's plenty of room to quieten it some more.

Once I connected it up properly, my NeoHE 430W works perfectly, well at least all the way through an XP install.

Good advice about shorting green to ground. Brought a new power supply, plugged it in the same way, same result. Thought this is strange - two dead supplies, must be me. Got a paper clip, green to black on the new cheapy, fan comes on. Hmmm, did the same on the Neo, what do you know it comes on too....

Bit of a freudian slip there. Well I got the system working yesterday. Turns out that my IQ is only 12. I had the four pin ATX power connector on the wrong way. Could have sworn I checked this over and over. Oh well, all's well that end's well. Probably need to change my screen name now to cover the...

Will drop down at lunch time and get a cheapy, and try it tonight. If it works I'll get a replacement supply. If not, I'll swear. I looking forward to it as well. My father heard I was building a new silent rig and said thanks for all the research, mind if I copy. He ended up with the same except fo...

Thanks for the tips. Last night I managed to get LEDs on my case coming on for half a second by removing everything from the system except for the motherboard and graphics card. I think this means my problem is likely to be a dodgy power supply. Borrowing a multi-meter tonight, and will probably go ...

Thanks all for the tips and advice. Last night I tried pulling different parts out of the system and actually got some LEDs flashing. - With nothing except for the main 24pin and 4pin ATX power connected, plus the video card, when I press power I get the LEDs around the power and reset byttons come ...

I have a gigabyte 7600GT silent pipe and there are no problems about space. It does take 2 slots up though, and I'd question whether it restricts a 3rd slot. Mind you I'm unlikely to ever fill another slot so don't care. No problems with vertically or length. I went with G.Skill RAM, but apparently ...

How to verify dead power supply

Hi everyone, I have just built a new system and it's not working: http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=33712 So far it sounds like I have one of two problems: 1) Not pulling 1A on start up so the PS won't start. 2) A dead power supply. (From what I read here about the NeoHE, this would n...

New System won't start

Hi everyone, First post here. Been reading for a while getting silently getting advice about what to build to make a silent desktop. I finally purchased all the parts and put them together on the weekend. Only problem is now it does not start. When I turn on power nothing happens at all. No LEDs com...
