Wich program should i use to read SMART values from Raid0 drives ? controller (ich8r) afaik is capable of passing SMART readings but i dont know wich tools to use. In Windows? Speedfan? SMART Readings behind RAID0 - wich proggie ?

Ive decided to buy 2x320 samsung's i got experience with 500 gb barracuda 10 and i guess you could torture child murderers with those disks in raid0 setup sweet god...

ye- i also tought about 400 GB models but seems that they are beyond my reach - here you can get 320 GB model at below 100$ while 400 GB is at least 180$ I seriously would like to see how 320 gb model compares with 300gb one... might be that it uses 3 platters with 2 on full capacity.... at 320 gb s...

I bought the 400GB 7200.10 Perpendicular drive from Outpost, and WOW is it loud! I feel just like the above poster, reminds me of old 10GB maxtors (I have one laying around here which still works and makes loud noises!).... I took the drive out of my PC and the noise was 80% gone! So the sound does...

thanks MakaveliReturns, now i know that 3 platter baraccuda's are simply loud as hell - fortunelly i sold mine - ill ship it tomorrow and ill get 2x320 samsungs in raid0 in exchange.... still im very dissapointed with seagate 10 series... :/

anyone got any experience with this drive ? - i kinda hoped that seagate 10 would be ok by means of silence but i was waaay dissapointed - i dont want to make same mistake twice ... i plan to use 2 of those drives in raid0 matrix so could you give some feedback on loudnes/realibility >
