wanna buy a extremely high end setup, only got 1 chance
I'm in the Philippines, I am a US citizen and I go to America about once every 5 years. I'll be leaving in about a week. I want to buy the best parts I can get all at once while there. (these are hard to find here) I want to buy various parts to assemble a very good water cooling system for my PC at...

it seems quite hot. I have a Q6600 being cooled by a Scythe Ninja on an Antec P180 case. The motherboard is an Asus P5N32-e SLI Plus. My current idle temperature is 32 based on what the Asus PC Probe reports. I get load temperatures of up to 45 when using Windows Media Encoder, and it uses all 4 cor...

My CPU is cooled by the Scythe Ninja without the fan. It is mounted on an Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard inside an Antec P180B case with all fans set on low. The CPU is an Intel Prescott at 3.0 ghz with no overclocking of any kind. Here are my temperatures based on the ASUS Probe: Idle 36 C Load 53 ...

That's a feature mostly found on older and sorry to say usually cheap, generic PSU's. It's actually a nice feature but I haven't seen it on newer power supplies. True, the power still comes from the wall, not the power supply. The monitor always draws AC current, the PSU provides DC current. I have ...

Zalman ZM80D-HP and ASUS P4C800 compatibility question
I'm wondering if the Zalman ZM80D-HP Passive VGA cooler is compatible with the Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard. It appears that the large VGA heatsink might collide with the passive northbridge heatsink or possibly the system memory. http://images.tigerdirect.com/SKUimages/medium/Z20-1040-main.jpg ht...

Does a low profile passive cooling solution exist?
Are there any good passive VGA cooling solutions that don't take up more than 2 slots?
Most seem to take two slots, one on each side.

Passive cooling for the Ageia
Is it possible to passively cool the Ageia PhysX card? The heatsink and fan on look rather small, so it probably generates less heat than most video cards. So passive cooling should be possible since it can already be done on high end video cards. Are those mounting holes around the PPU standard and...

Lapped CPU effect minimal
I just lapped my socket 478 3.0ghz Prescott CPU, and there seems to have no effect! Temperatures are still the same! I even lapped the heatsink, which is the stock intel for now, soon to become a Scythe Ninja. I used up to 2000 grit sandpaper. Maybe I did something wrong? There is no overclocking of...

The fan stops spinning not due to mechanical failure but because I set the knob to (even 1/3rd of the way) to the lowest. At that part, the fan completely stops spinning (based on what my ASUS probe reports). I've never heard of Enermax's PSU running in passive (fanless mode) when under low load or ...

Enermax PSU fan completely stops spinning at certain times
I have an Enermax Noisetaker PSU. It has a knob at the back that allows manual control of the fan speed, I'm not sure whether it's the bottom fan or the rear vent fan. It has always been on maximum. At that setting the fan may spin between 1500 - 1700 rpm all the time. When I set the fan speed knob ...
