Re: Nanoxia Deep Silence 1

Two weeks ago they announced the Deep Silence 2 . Not much of an improvement though, quite the opposite IMO. It's actually a bit longer time, November 19 http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/news/Nanoxia-Unveils-the-Deep-Silence-2-Mid-tower-Case/6945 And I think I noticed it on their website before that,...

Re: EVGA GTX 460 Fan/Voltage Bios Mod for a quieter GPU

Yes, it helped. I found it as you said, and the byte next to that string is 28, which corresponds to the real minimum fan speed of 40%.
Thank you.
I'll try it soon.

Re: 2TB : WD Green EARS vs. Samsung F4 EcoGreen

EADS is not an option in retail, it isn't sold anymore.

I'm still waiting for answers on the disks details from the shop. I'll probably make the move in a week or so.

Re: 2TB : WD Green EARS vs. Samsung F4 EcoGreen

I'll have to check if the EARS is 3 platter,I assumed that by this time all of them would be like this. Performance isn't my no.1 criteria,so EADS is in my list because of the good noise rating the 1.5 model got on SPCR, although it's a 4 platter drive and it probably has a lower performance (than 3...

2TB : WD Green EARS vs. Samsung F4 EcoGreen

I want a new 5400rpm drive for file sharing. It will be used internally. Speed is not that important, I want it to be reliable and low noise. Both are 3 platter I think. Which one to get from the 2? Also, would EADS version be an option? (it's not found anymore in retail, maybe I'll find a low use one).

Gigabyte MB's can usually control 2 fans.
check with speedfan if you can change the speed of the case fan.

the coil is inaccesibile from the outside if the casing isn't removed,so I'd have to poke around the coils while the cover is off,and I don't know how risky is that (in burning the PSU and/or the rest of my PC or getting myself electrocuted) at 0 load the fan does not start and the PSU rattles very ...

I've got my hands on a cheap used HX620W,and at that time,I did not notice this simptom in that system it did not have warranty (lost documents) It makes kind of a buzzing/ rattling noise , that's very low in intensity in idle (but I can still notice it,maybe others won't) and intensifies on load th...

Antec SOLO - HDD suspension problem

I have a Solo with revised suspension cord.the problem is that, when I put the drives in,they get quite a bit lower than what I suspect it should be. I've seen photos around here, and the drives seem to stay at the same level as the hooks. I'll put a picture to illustrate my point (the picture is take...

I had nothing to do with that review,I went here right after I finished the review (there's that linked "discuss in out forums" at the end of each your reviews) I said in my post those things and testing cooling hardware is not exact like "1+1=2 math"... that's why extrapolating doesn't just do it,i...

You missed my whole point. And that is, the frequency of the CPU doesn't matter if they are both generating the same power output! Yes, the power goes up with frequency, but if they are both consuming 95W, and the frequencies are different (clearly) than power and frequency are unrelated. and for t...

[Soundproofing materials] Eggcrate foam - questions&opin

I'm thinking about using such a sound proof material in my case it's usually used for audio studios and chambers has anyone used something like this? does it have any problems with static electricity? http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1525/3a8d1.th.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1908/004foa...

they are very usefull for accelero S1
they cover all it's surface and a bit more (I have 2*100mm slim kaze jyuni on my accelero, and there is still some room left) and keeps the overall thickness of the cardaccelero to 3 slots only (and decent space to get it's airflow)
