The P5B can't control a 3pin fan on the CPU header either. I think it may be that they didn't include the circuitry to do so.

What's the point in getting the dedicated VGA PSU, if it's loud? It's not going to be any quieter than having a regular PSU in the case. The review you link to explicitly mentions that it's loud, due in no small part to the fact that it's cooled by a pair of 40mm fans.

I'll point out that I run GW on a 7950GT, and regularly get 75+ fps. The only time I didn't was during the winter festival, when there was literally 100+ people on the same spot in town.

Having a Solo case, I can tell you that it does matter which one you use. The small screws don't actually fit the standoffs. They're actually just enough smaller that they can pull out of the standoffs, but not enough smaller for it to be easy doing so. So if you put the small screws in, it's nearly...

The top 92mm fan mount on the Solo/P150 is close enough to the top of the bracket it's on that you have about 1mm of clearance between the fan housing and the top of the bracket. You can only fit a fan which is actually 92mm on, I think.

It's double slot, kinda. The front of the card fits within the single slot space, but the heatsink on the back takes up some extra room, too. It might interfere with stuff put above it in the case.

They aren't necessarily mandatory, but they effectively are. You can blow your MB power connector without it connected.

If he uses virtual machines for the clients to actually be using, there shouldn't be a problem with corrupting the server's files and settings. Slightly more overhead, but given what it's going to be used for, that shouldn't matter too much.

The top 92mm fan location on a solo will only fit a 92mm fan. The holes are located right up at the top of the door they're on. The bottom fan location does have about 4mm of space all around, so you should be able to fit a 100mm fan on the bottom. Not sure it's worth it to stick different fans at t...

I had no real problems with having my vid card and HDD installed at the same height. Have to slide the HDD out a bit to get the cables on, but they fit fine. And the PCIe power cable is sticking towards the front of the case.

As far as I can tell, the P5B is unable to control the speed of a 3-pin fan on the CPU header. It can control headers CHA1-3, but they all recieve the same output.

You can't suspend the hard drives when it's on it's side. The front intakes on the right side will also probably end up blocked. You'll also need to put on extra feet on the right side. I don't see any other problems with it being on it's side though. As far as your system goes, I doubt the Raptor w...

The inductors are just pieces of wire, coiled up. There's no point in attempting to cool them, because they're good for roughly 200C or more. Unless they're hot enough to desolder themselves, they're fine.

The PWM wire carries a high frequency signal with a duty cycle between 0 and 100%. The voltage the fan motor recieves is modulated by this signal. This is done so that the RPM sensor doesn't have a modulated voltage signal, which could screw the results. So the PWM overrides the 12V? Can't I just p...

The discrepency is due to the fact that the MB sensor isn't on the core. The value speedfan is giving you for a core temp is accurate.

Your Athlon 3500+ must have the sensor closer to the actual chip.

The 127 temp is almost certainly a ghost temp. As for the one labeled system temp, I believe that's the southbridge, though it could be the northbridge.

It's a part of the MB and BIOS. The hardware portion of it can also be controlled from windows using a program called Speedfan. The BIOS just has 3 options, IIRC: one where it remains quiet pretty much all the time, one where the fans spin near full speed, and one where the fans vary based on temp. ...
