Re: SilverStone Temjin TJ08-E: MicroATX Evolved

I just hope SPCR gets their hands on a Fractal Design Arc Mini case soon ... from the "outside" I like it better then Silverstone case but I would love to know how the Arc Mini performs. The Arc Midi gets quite good scores so I can only hope the Arc Mini perfroms similar :).

As my current (SILENT) PC is almost completely build on reviews from this site, I did my part. A small but hopefully useful contribution for even more high-quality reviews like we got in the past.

Keep up the good work.

Will this PSU power a Q6600 @ 3Ghz 24/7 for folding ?
Will this BOX cool a Q6600 @ 3Ghz 24/7 for folding ?

I'll use a G33 board so no extra graphic card is required, just a HDD. No CD/DVD/... things.

Re: Possible to build silent gaming PC?

I would like to build a very quiet gaming PC for only $1800. That's $2200 here in Australia. I need the case, PSU and everything that goes in it. How quiet could it potentially be? I would like to use a 8800GTS. Thanks. That's pretty easy to do with today hardware choices I think. Get an Antec SOLO...

I don't see any advantage anymore in fanless PSU's. I'm currently using a Corsair HX520 PSU and the thing is completely silent and no risk of overheating as the fan will rise its speed whenever required. Never happened until now.

A E6420 @ E6600 speeds should be no problem what so ever (that's an increase of the FSB from 266 to 300) as long as you have a decent motherboard (Asus, Gigabyte) with a P965 chipset (probably a NV chipset will do, but I don't have experience there) and (A-brand like Corsair, G-Skill, ...) I can't answer the airflow question, but I do know that the HX520 is a VERY nice (noise-wise) PSU. I would say it will turn out fine. Also, the 120mm fan in the PSU, sucks the air out of the case IIRC (also sounds logical), so I'm not sure what your problem might be concerning airflow.
