If you are sold on running Vista, I would recommend you bump the ram to 2 GB. If you are planning to add memory later, why not get a single 1GB stick of DDR2? Nice build, BTW.

The quick answer is no, the Lian Li will not be as quiet as the Solo. It can be made quiet, but you would have to put asphalt sound deadener (Dynamat) in the side panels and the top panel (which is riveted on) to keep the panels from vibrating. A 3.5in HDD can be easily suspended by removing one scr...

How can it be so hot? P4 3.0, 6800U
Long story short, my sons computer is stable for hours when gaming, etc but the air coming from the power supply and rear fan is hot. The rear of the case above the p/s gets warm to the touch, but nothing smells hot. It blasts an impressive amount of heat into his room, warms the whole corner where ...

In the recommended heat sinks article, socket 754 is "K8" Odds are that your present heat sink will not work with socket 754. Socket 754, socket 939, and socket 940 use the same heat sink mounting, socket A does not. Did you look here for the heatsinks? http://www.silentpcreview.com/article30-page1....

There is (at most) an 8 watt difference between the 7600gs and gt, according to x-bit labs. if we add 8 watts to the 7300gs, it would be less than 25watts, definitely in the same league power wise as the 7600gs. I was looking at some different sites as well as the one liked to, and I would have to s...

Video Upgrade, ps limited
Hi, new poster, been lurking for a while now. I want to upgrade my son's AGP video card from a 9600 PRO. The SFF comp has a 200 watt power supply and I am not sure what video card I can get away with. I am looking for better game performance with a 1280x1024 resolution LCD (DVI). These are the cards...
