P182 Lower Chamber Question
Hi Guys, In a P180 case that i have, i put a fan infront of the lower hd housing. To do this, i had to butcher the area infront of the lower hd housing, and i never really liked the way the fan fit in there ( a little too tight ). So now i am building a new system, and have ordered a P182. Again, i ...

By the way, i tried taping the holes around the PSU, but found that my hard drives ( 3 of them in the lower cage ), ended up actually about 1 to 2 C cooler with the tape off ( not what other people have found on their systems ). This is recommended only if you use a PSU (fan-cooled) with no other f...

chaohuei........ I am going to be building my son a system in the not too distant future. After looking at all the P35 boards, and then reading the reviews, we have settled on the Abit P35 Pro, for a couple of reasons. The reviews on it have been good, but then so have they on the other P35 boards. ...

pdawg17... A couple of things... Did you try seperating the upper part of your motherboard into two compartments? I first used cardboard, and made it so that the cardboard ran from the front of the computer, to the back, and also made it so that it touched the motherboard, and came out flush with th...

One thing i don't see much of here on SPCR, is people buying a second hard drive, strictly for making a weekly mirror image of their boot drive. It's great to see all the latest PSU's, and video cards, etc etc.... yet no one seems to be putting in a second drive as protection, incase your boot drive...

Hi guys, Many thanks for clarifying the part about which way the fan blows the air. I should have known that in no way would you guys be telling people to buy this fan or that fan, IF they were blowing into the case. That problem is solved :) NeilBlanchard.... Thank you for the welcome :) I see your...

I am getting ready to build a system for my son, and have figured out all the stuff that he needs. Then i come to what i thought was going to be the easiest thing to figure out, and i have come to a screeching halt. My sons system will be: Q6600 - processor Abit IP35 Pro - motherboard Corsair XMS2 m...

Getting ready to build a gamer system for my son: Intel Q6600 processor Abit IP35 Pro motherboard 2 gigs of Corsair XMS2 memory EVGA 8800GTX video card ( only one/no SLI) Antec P182 case Now my question. As near as i can figure the power supply would have to put out around 413 watts at 100%. So i th...

aelfewulf.... Very nicely done! I did the same things in my P180. I do have a question tho. I have seen several people mention that they lapped their cpu. Altho i have lapped my cpu heatsink, i have never tried that with the cpu itself. Is the top surface of the cpu hard enough to allow you to lap i...

g0uex.... You are not the first that has not had better results with the Ninja. I for one did not either! g0uex.... I finally ran across someone else who has the top fan in a P180 blowing down onto the cpu/heatsink. I tried the normal exhaust up method, then afterwards i blocked the hole, and then finally i had the fan blow down like you have yours. I have yet to find anyone who would agree with me on d...

mtheuma.... I wonder if you tried having the top fan blow down onto the heatsink/fan combo ? The reason i say this, is cause on my system i found that my temps went about 3 to 4C lower with it blowing down. I know that is against what most people on here preach, but it worked on my setup. I believe ...

alfhenrik..... Contrary to what most people on here say, i also tried the top fan as an intake rather than an exhaust. I have probably changed it back and forth 8 or 10 times, and EVERY time it shows me the same results. The temp on my Zalman CNPS7000B-ALcu was atleast 2C lower with the fan in the d...

SockToy.... You might want to consider moving the optical drive down to the 4th 5 1/4 bay. That would leave your top 3 bays open, and then you could stick a Kama Bay into it. scholtz.... My guess is that those are excellent temps. Does Everest give you the speed of any of your fans? If it does, then all you need to do is get SpeedFan, cause it will allow you to change the speed of your CPU fan. Then you place SpeedFan in your StartUp menu of WindowsXP, and your all set. ...

scholtz... Everest is an excellent program, that will probably give you fairly accurate temp readings. I am not familiar with your CPU, but i think what you ought to do is run Everest, and then get an idle temp and then load the CPU and get the hottest temp. Post them here, and i am sure someone wil...
