Re: Gaming machine need advice for PSU and CPU cooler

While I don't find it reasonable to buy K-series CPU for its higher resellability, I think that it actually makes sense to go for a top-end CPU which will not bottleneck the performance of GTX 1080. There are just a couple of triple-A games highly reliant on CPU. Also, the overall CPU technology ha...

Re: Silent MiniITX Skylake in 13.4 litres: 6400, GTX950, Nin

Hi,
I didn't see anything mentioned in here but maybe you could help me out. If I go for a SFX PSU like the new Corsair SF450W. Would this allow for a longer graphic card like in the Ncase M1?

Re: Gaming machine need advice for PSU and CPU cooler

Why exactly? He gets more performance out of the i7 than the i5 for the future. If I go for a i5 I would not take the 6600K but rather the normal 6600 since they have the same Turbo Speed anyway and I can save money on the H170 chipset. edit: I convinced him to go with a Fractal Define Mini. CPU coo...

Re: Gaming machine need advice for PSU and CPU cooler

Yea I can upgrade the RAM no problem on that front.

Well the heat is no issue if I don't have to build a complete silent system. So why not go with the i7

Re: Gaming machine need advice for PSU and CPU cooler

thanks for the reply guys. The case was not my decision but rather the guy that I build it for wants it  So I'm trying to make it work. What would be an adequate SPCR Micro ATX case choice? Maybe I can sway him after all... The PSU won't interfere with the GPU because I can mount it up top ...

Gaming machine need advice for PSU and CPU cooler

Hey guys, I'm building a rig for a friend so there is no need to go as silent as I normally would go. I will list the parts that are already decided on: i7-6700K Scythe Ninja 4 Asus Z170M Plus 2x8Gb Kingston DDR4-2133 Fractal Define Mini Samsung Evo 850 500Gb GTX 1080 as soon as good silent custom c...

Re: Smallest ITX Case for this setup (without a graphic card

I'm not sure I see the point of an ATX PSU for a low power build like this. If making it small really is everything then trying to fit in an ATX PSU makes things much larger. A PicoPSU would work fine for the low power components you are talking about. What SSD do you intend to use? If small size i...

Re: Smallest ITX Case for this setup (without a graphic card

NUC is too expensive for the performance that I get out of it. I alrdy saw the Lian Li and kinda like it. Maybe I'll wait for the new Corsair SFX PSU and see if they are silent then I could go for some non ATX PSU cases.

Smallest ITX Case for this setup (without a graphic card)

Hi,
I am looking for the smallest case I can fit this stuff into:

i3-6100 with boxed cooler
ATX PSU
1xSSD, 1xHDD, 1xODD (can be a slim one)
no dedicated graphic card.

I have checked out a lot of cases but it seems that most waste a lot of space for a dual slot graphic card which I won't use.

Re: Top blower cooler for ITX system

It will still take a while until the case is available but I will definitely post pics of the finished build in here. The case is a lot smaller than the Ncase M1 since the M1 has around 12L and the A4 only 7.25L. My biggest concern is actually the SFX-L PSU and not the cpu cooler since I am fairly c...

Re: Small gaming build (ITX) but which case?

the SFX PSU is only an option if I change the fan inside otherwise it would produce too much noise (which you can see in the article you linked). I saw the Phantek Enthoo Evolv ITX which I kinda like since I can put almost anything in there without thinking. What do you think about the case? edit: j...

I would love to use the Ncase but you are limited to a SFX PSU which will be too loud. Are there any m-ATX cases that you guys would recommend taking a look at?

Re: Antec P182, GTX 580, gaming build - Silent

I read the Bios with GPUZ and I modded it with nibitor iirc. The 20% was just a value that was quieter than the buzz of my monitor so I used that. THe temps are quite okay as well. Something like 47° or so.

I just wanted to post my experience with the Sparkle GTX 580. I have the card now for 2 weeks and it was worth the money. Out of the box you can't run the fan below 40% with MSI Afterburner. I just read the bios with nibitor and changed the min fanspeed to 10% and reflashed the card with nvflash. To...

Re: Has anybody tried undervolting sandybridge yet?

maybe you guys can help me to clear things up a bit. I got a 2500K and an Asus P8p67. In the Bios I enabled EPU and there is also the Offset Option. If I understand that correct then offset is the new way to Undervolt right? It determines the voltage difference regardless if the CPU is in idle or fu...

hey guys, I'll buy a HD6870 next week and I'm looking for a nice cooler for that thing. Atm I got a MK-13 which won't fit apparently I think. if it's needed or not doesn't rly matter because the shop that I'll visit tomorrow has only a few heatsinks: Meghalem, Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme, Scythe Mugen 2, NHU12P

Except the Mugen 2 every heatsink is at the same price lvl give or take 3 euros.
