It's definitely not ideal cost performance, but it doesn't have the PCIe power connector and putting a passive heatsink on another 5750 would end up at a similar price point anyway.

The Antec TriCool fans are just tolerable on low, blah on medium, and ridiculous on high. And even on low they provide terrible airflow. Highly recommended to use anything else like Scythe or whatever you can get there. The top fan is a 140mm fan and you can't change that easily. Check out SPCR's re...

Of power consumption reports of the i3 530/H55 combo systems I've seen, most of them perform excellent with MSI and Intel leading the pack. It varies depending on what you disable and unplug, but it looks like Intel has the *slight* advantage with power.

That's true, and I just read that "silent" isn't a requirement so it should be fine. Many people here would only settle for a PSU with a 120mm fan though :p

The Sonata III is a fairly nice case, but it's got low airflow and is a pretty big pain in the butt to work in. I would lean towards a Mini P180 with relaxed fans since those components you chose don't generate that much heat indeed. As for PSU, the Antec green PSUs have small front fans so I'd actu...

It depends on the card, but for some long cards you can just leave the hard drive space for that slot open.

That's probably not the bottleneck... What size is your display at? You may have to drop some settings (not familiar with WoW to know what they are) to get optimal performance without losing too much good looks.

If it's the 8800GT, it might be worth waiting for the next bunch of Radeons; they're supposed to be shorter than the HD48xx series.

Installed the card. Damn, the thing is loud. Under load it's actually okay, but it's idle that's killing me. Manual fan speed control = fail. I'll test the HR-03 on it eventually. I thought about doing it over the weekend, but the noise is killing me, so I might try tomorrow. Anything bigger/better...

If you don't need the video card now, it's a good idea to wait. Technology's always improving, and the low end gets "trickle down" of high end. Right now I'd say get the 4670, but it can only go down in price.

Honeycombs do their job: straighten/focus airflow. The application is limited, but if you need a spot that's not close to the fan cooled, they can work. But then again, you can buy honeycomb sheets from McMaster Carr for cheap.

Definitely replace the Tri-Cool fans; they're junk. Also note that even though the Nine Hundred seems like a big case, it's really not that spacious inside. It will hold more stuff, but it's not nice and open inside like you'd (or at least I did) expect.

The Nine Hundred will let you hear all the fan sound really well because of its very open design. The Solo is a really silence oriented case, and airflow isn't too bad if you put some nice 92mm fans in the front and leave enough room for air to flow around. The Solo is going to be the better choice ...

For things already available, I'd go with HIS. All solid-state capacitors of good quality and a (reportedly) quiet exhaust type stock cooler. ASUS and Gigabyte haven't gotten theirs out yet but I'd assume Gigabyte's cooking up something good.

I think I've seen that the T-Rad2 with 2 92mm fans performs slightly better than an Accelero S1 with Turbo Modules. Which, I think, translates to the Accelero S1 with 120mm fan (or 2 92mm fans) being better still, for less money.

There are 4 ram chips on each side, in the exact same spots. It's GDDR3 though, so you probably don't *need* the sinks. And I didn't use any of the voltage sinks, didn't use them. Didn't really see anything that seemed like it.

Based on results, I'd say the S2 is more than adequate. First a word of warning, you have to slide the mounting bracket all the w...

People who want a gaming card and don't mind playing cutting edge games on medium settings (while using low power outside gaming, for people witho...
