I actually have a kill-a-watt, I haven't measured the power consumption of my system in a long time but I remember I was a bit surprised that it was over 100 watt and I know that the 6600GT is a power hog (also it has a loud tiny fan on it) it's been almost 3 years since I bought the 6600GT so I gue...

replace my old power hungry 6600GT with >/= and less powe

Hi guys, I have a (old/hot/power hungry) 6600GT and I am looking for a replacement card that has about the same or better performance and requires less power. I would prefer something without a fan and would be happy to buy a new motherboard if there is an intigrated solution The power consumption c...

Thing is, some are .rar files instead of .zip, and the new computer's XP doesn't like .rars, so I'm searching to figure out how to install those drivers from a .rar file. gzip or winrar will work for those stange, I didn't know asus wa...

FS - 4 x 200GB Segate 7200.7 SOLD

I have four 200GB SATA drives from segate 7200.7 SATA only model number ST3200822AS Price: $25 per drive (plus whatever shipping is) all four drives were bought around the same time. Warranties are good until Jan 2010 (not too shabby!) buy one or all of them - if you purchase more obviously you'd on...

Hello, What utility did you use to put all zeros on them? Was it SpinRite? it was called "zilla..." something or other I ended up using a version of eraser that's free and worked well from http://www.heidi.ie that works in windows, but you still need to have the drive partitioned to use it, but it ...

Can someone recommend a good Disk Wipe utility?

I'm going to be selling 4 HDD's and I tried a utility that wrote 0's to all sectors, but when I used a program called "activeUndelete" (which rocks!) it was able to find stuff still on there and pull it off with ease

any suggestions? I need to totally wipe these things for good

Id say what this boils down to is a case of subtle price discrimination: Newegg is treating customers differently, in one case the free shipping it offered to those customers who would only purchase a single item as Newegg elicits an impulse buy. The second case where the free shipping is not offere...

If you can get it. the MSI 945GT is a fantastic motherboard, the new drivers and Bios have fixed all the problem, and it's will allow overclocking and the PCI bus is frequency locked so there's no stability issues like on the Asus. granted, you can only up the frequency by about 30mhz, but it's enou...

MSI board has problem reading the memory timing from my ram sticks too. Sometimes it reads 4,4,4,10, sometimes 5,5,5,12. I think MSI needs to update the bios. But I don't think that is going to happen since they have just update the bios to 1.4 and this mobo is not a main-stream big-seller. I’m h...

I was just sniffing around - according to This review the ASUS N4L-VM board might be a good choice for overclocking chips with 533 fsb. no Vcore adjustment but shouldn't really be necessary.

it doesn't have socket 478 mounts though =(
