Going by the pictures it looks like the northbridge fan is right by the GPU. Are there any issues with heat collecting in the GPU area? That might be causing the northbridge to freak out if it's got a temp-sensing fan. Also, how's the space between the PSU and the case? Is the PSU breathing okay? L...

its an interesting design. My only real concern is the fact that you will have 2x 120mm fans at the front of the case near the seated position. If i were you, id replace the mobo with one that puts the northbridge someplace that can be passivly cooled, and not directly under the video expansion slo...

- How's the sound? - Hows the airflow? Are those vents along the sides of the front panel sufficient for exhaust? - What sort of temperatures are you getting? What components are being used to get those temperatures? - Now that you've been using the case for a while, have any issues come up? 1. The...

phrygius Claude05, Nice review--and nice pictures. Can I ask what camera you're using? Impressive resolution! I'm using an Olympus E300 with the 14-54mm lens on a tripod and a small strobe flash on a stand with an umbrella for light. J. Sparrow claude05 wrote: Since the A05B is so light, at 16x the...

One thing about the design; it seems an odd design choice, with the PSU fan and the system fan fighting for airflow, as the PSU blows it out while the system fan sucks it in. So the cool air tends to be "caught" by the PSU to an extent (even if heat rises) plus the heat from the PSU is getting suck...

Lian Li A05B Review

I posted this case review just a little while ago at http://www.nvnews.net and I thought you guys would like to see it. Thanks to Ryboto for his helpful and patient answers and thanks to the rest of you who helped me with my decision. I've been looking for a small, stylish and most importantly quiet...

Nice job with the case! I just ordered it myself and I have a few questions in anticipation of it's arrival. Thanks! Can do. First off I noticed that you changed the stock fans, I was thinking of buying some yate loons to replace them but wonder how quiet the stock ones are in the first place? I bu...

I did check out the gallery. It was part of the reason why I decided to bite the bullet and order it. I'm excited to finally move on to something not resembling an old server.

Well I finally made a decision. I didn't really like the way the Antec Solo looked and I'm much more into the minimalist, unobtrusive look of the Lian Li cases (of which I've always wanted one) so I went ahead and ordered the Lian Li PC-A05B from newegg.com. It has a pair of 120mm fans, plenty of sp...

Hey guys, Thanks for all your replies so far. The antec Solo does seem to fit the bill, so I will look into it. Though I'd like like to see it first hand before I make a decision. The silverstone cases have always impressed me, but alas they are way out of my budget leage for the most part. I saw a ...

Suggest-a-case!

So I am ready to purchase a new case for my system. My old case, while tried and true is no longer cutting it with regards to acoustics and cooling. I've been looking at a few lian li and Antec cases but I'm finding it hard to make any choice whatsoever, so I'll let you guys sell me on a case, with ...

"fit an 8800gts with three drives in the drive cage".

I've just killed the most offensive fan in my case ("the rattler") and the noise has diminished considerably. I stand by my earlier statement. the 8800gts is super quiet (not silent but certainly not "the rattler"). The PSU I bought recently is an enermax 500w Liberty. It was recommended by the Mod...

I wouldn't worry about anything overheating but keeping temps low enough for noise levels people typically aim for here might be tricky with hotter running components. Since the PSU is internally housed all the heat it generates is dumped directly back into the case. Of all that hardware the bigges...

Sorry to derail the thread but considering what everyone is saying regarding cooling and sound what should I get for my system? Here are my specs: x2 3800 (stock with zalman 7000alcu cooler a8n e enermax Liberty 500w (modular) 8800GTS (stock) 3 harddrives What I want is something smallish, sleek, go...

This is what i will do to this case, if anyone is interstead. I will make some soft mounting system for 2 hdd at the bottom of the case, to benefit from the 120mm rear fan. Maybe some No Vibes III? For the exhaust, i will make a home made blower fan, similar to what Bluefront has done here: http://...

Re: Any info for this case: Lian Li A05?

http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Chassis/Middle_Tower/Classical_Series/M_C_S_PC-A05.htm Imo, it's an interesting case, i like it for it's size and potential cooling . One thing’s for sure, any cooling potential will be at the expense of a lot of noise. On that other case, the PC-A10, they’ve stol...

Front of the case, under the hdd cage. Also, on lian li site it says it has 2 fans, but on newegg it says it has only 1 120mm. Anyway, some heavy dampenings is required for the aluminium panels.... I would imagine some work would have to go into it, but it couldn't be worse than my current case. it...

Hey all, new to the forum, long time lurker. This case has piqued my interest and the for the price it's very tempting. I'm looking for something sleeker, smaller and most of all QUIET! my current case sounds like a leaf blower. I changed my old Antec PSU ( it had thermal fan control) when I upgrade...
