Most newer high-end motherboards (eg, P5W, DQ6) let you control lots of fans from software. But so far your board is the only one I've heard of that lets you adjust the BIOS algorithm. So we either just let the BIOS do its thing, or run SpeedFan instead of usiing the BIOS. The downside of SpeedFan ...

I built a computer with Asus M2NPV-MX that controlled the fans perfectly as well. Can you elaborate? Can you set the speed in BIOS? Are there only presets or you can do it detailed like with the FanEQ? With the FanEQ you can set manually for each and every fan header how it should behave, what is t...

Re: Raptor Hard Drives, any benefit to me?
would a 10k rpm drive give me more fps than a 7200? and are there any tests that bench exactly this effect? A faster HDD will not give you a single FPS extra, not even 0.01 extra FPSs. It will just load your games/maps faster, say 0-10 seconds faster, depending on the game/map. That's of course if ...

Well, this being a forum about silent PCs, I'm gonna drop a line about my 150Gb rap. It is very loud while seeking. Believe me, very very loud. The loudest non-SCSI monster I ever heard the past 5-6 years. I don't know about the 74G rap, but I know I'm gonna kick this baby out. The extra performance...

Thanks! I've been lurking around here for over a year, so I just decided to register and have a say or two ;) I'm in a lot of trouble right now, this P5B(deluxe, bleah) really s*** when it comes to fan/voltage control. Via speedfan, there are only two fan ports that can be controlled, one is the CPU...
