make sure you can mount the coolers on the motherboard you have

not all 939 boards have the reduced height capacitors

the thermalright coolers may have clearance issues as well as may have to be mounted with the fan pointing towards the psu for a 939

Can your card run with a clock speed lower than 100mhz? 275mhz on my BFG OC 8800 GTS - it is presently idling at 58 degrees, gone a bit cooler here in the UK presently this is in a sonata 1 with acoustipack lining, so I think that is pretty good, seeing as my x800 idled at 48 degrees thanks for the...

Whilst I had the case apart I took a better picture of the GF8800GTS fan duct. :) It's the "classic" GF8800 duct carefully made from cardboard and electrical tape. http://www.tinyland.org/PCStuff/SoloDuct.jpg regarding this ducting, I am assuming you have removed the pci slats so that the ho...

thanks to the WR304

shaved 10 degrees off my 8800 gts temps and 2 degrees off my cpu temp with the underclock feature of rivatuner.

the 8800 gts is heating the case more than my previous x800 so nice to be able to have the same previous noise levels with the underclock enabled

If you want passive look at the HR-03 . A cheaper option is a Zalman ZF-900 . About undervolting, Try Ati Tray Tools . Go to the overclocking section (first one) and hit the "fan" tab. You can manually set the fan speed or you can set thresholds for it thanks - atitool and tray tools do not have an...

A simpler method is to gently prise the plastic housing from around the 2-pin connector on the gfx card (it simply pulls straight off, but be careful). Then simply plug the 3-pin connector straight onto this making sure black goes to where the original black was and red to red. White (yellow in my ...

Re: First attempts at quiet computing + case fans question

First of all - Hello from a long-time lurker. Also, do you think I'll need an intake fan for the passive 7600gt? I won't be gaming much at all, but will be running vista on two 1680x1050 monitors. I would see how you get on first, you may find that the card will be fine... it is pretty simple to ad...

sounds like the rev b version of the ninja this uses the stock backplate, you do also have to press pretty hard to get the second clip into place, I was not comfortable mounting whilst the board was in the case as it was flexing best to mount whilst out of the case so you can apply the force more ev...

Scythe Ninja - heatpipes touching capacitors

hi, bought a scythe ninja which is supposedly compatible with my MSI NF4 Platinum SLI motherboard however the heatpipes on one side firmly touch the capacitors... is this acceptable / safe? The caps are bent back a touch, are firm against the small blocks shown, they are not touching anything else.....
