I have a set of 2.1 creative speakers. It doesn't look like creative makes them anymore but they cost about $40 and I have been very happy with the sound. The highs and mids seem to come out very nice from the satelites and the I never run the sub above 40% because it is just too much and everyone i...

thanks for the info but from what I have read the problems with that PSU are from older versions as there was some kinda of problem with it. I am not really worried about not having enough voltage to get it booted since from what I read that happened to people who were undervolting there system to g...

My plan is to actually get the computer now with a somewhat decent card (the 7900GS or ATI 800xl) and just hold out as long as I can and then get a dX10 card and Vista when there are more options. I want to upgrade instead of waiting the months because my current computer is very underpowered and lo...

I don't plan to replace the PSU since it is an antec HE which is not the highest rated on spcr but it is definately up there and I don't need any more power than 430 since I have 1 hdd, 1 disc drive, a VGA and that is it, no other upgrades. When I upgrade my VGA I don't plan to get a top of the line...

Quiet Xp to Vista Gaming rig
I am planning to build a new pc but I am going to wait abit longer and hope for some price drops in the components. I hope the VGA will go down with the release of ATI's dX10 cards and the price of my processor should fall soon. This computer will be used for gaming including new games(F.E.A.R., HL2...

Since you are overclocking a C2D 6300 I know of a web article that you may find interesting. They achieved an 87% OC with a Gigabyte DS3(I think) and a cheap $27 cooler. http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/01/18/overclocking-guide-part-1/ I also have questions about the C2D 4300. What are it's normal r...

Well the side panels are worse for noise than the front bezel since they are closer to the noise sources(CPU and VGA) and offer a more direct path for air to follow. I am torn because I don't really like the look of the P150 but it is so much better for noise which is a big complaint I have with my ...

Which budget midtower?
I am looking for a case to use in a new build. I would prefer to get a case with no PSU as I want to use the Antect NeoHE 430. I looked at the P180 but felt it was too big for my use. I don't need much space because I won't be putting alot of components in the case. So something around the mid tower...

Thanks that all helped alot. The reason I am looking at just getting a cheap card is I just want something to tide me over until the dX 10 cards become less expensive. I am currently quite happy with the performance I get from my 9800pro and would continue using that in the new system if it was pci ...

Any thoughts on the X800xl? It seems to outperform the 7600gs and get better framerates in most games. the 7600GT beats it in some games and loses out in others. But the big advantage is I can get one for a measily $140 canadian. Which is a $40 savings on the 7600GS. Also the 7900GT seems to be a sa...

A quiet tide me over card
I am specing out a new system and I am having trouble picking out a VGA. My current system is getting too slow and I want to go from AGP to PCI cards. Right now I am running a Radeon 9800pro which is a great card and has served me well but it is loud as sin. I definately want to make the leap to dir...

Need help with case, PSU, and HD
I am planning to build a new computer and I am looking to make it quiet since my current PC is quite noisy. There are a few things I have already decided on but the main thing I need help with is picking a PSU and Case. If you have any other suggestions about the components I have listed I would lik...

Suggestions on mATX board
I am looking for a mATX board for a Core Duo system I plan to build. I plan to put in a good video card (probably 7600+ series or ati equivalent) and then upgrade to a directX 10 card when the prices drop to something reasonable and they produce some decent budget cards. I will only run one small(16...

Shoebox Case without PSU over CPU
I am looking for different shoebox style cases that do not have the PSU overtop of the CPU. I already know about the Apevia Q-Pack Ultra Micro Fly Are there any other cases that are like this. The reason I am looking is it seems without the PSU over the CPU it would be possible to mount a larger coo...

Case to fit big cooler?
I am looking for a SFF case to fit a larger CPU cooler. I have a Thermaltake BigTyphoon it has a larger 120cm and runs very quiet even at full voltage(I plan to undervolt it as I won't need all the cooling it offers). The problem comes from the size of it. It measures 122x122x128(mm)(WxDxH) which is...

Is the PSU on that Case quiet? I ask because I am kinda planning to make a new computer and I want to go small and quiet(but powerful). I know that is a tough challenge but I think it will be fun. I would also like to know abit about the spacing around the CPU. Namely how far is it from the center o...

I just looked at the thermalright si-128 and it does not fit a socket 478 according to their website. Add to that that I cannot pick one up at a local store and it does not seem it will work for me. I also figured that if I find the stock thermaltake fan too loud I can swop it with a much quieter ve...

Actually your post is really help ful because I was definately worried about something like the ninja not cooling the components around my Cpu. Since my plan in the new system is to use the 120mm fan on my cpu cooler as the exhaust fan for my case I was really worried that the ninja's lack of mother...

Which cooler for 478 and 775
I currently have an old P4 2.6ghz system with a 9800 pro gaphics card. An upgrade is right around the corner and I will be going to the Core Duo systems and probably a directX 10 card. I plan to build that system and concentrate on noise as my current system sounds like a leaf blower. This brings me...
