Do you guys know of any modded Zalman VF1000 ? I swear I saw some pictures of a guy who installed it on his 8800, removed the zalman fan and ziptied a 120mm Scythe on it. Tha was me.... :D , except I ziptied the Scythe to a HR-03 , if you want some advice then lsiten, change the CPU cooler for a Ni...

Well done.
I must say, that door mod seems pretty slick. Gotta try that some time.
Don't forget to have the break-in period for the AS5 before you leave it on 24/7.

Nice floppy cable.

Just one question. The backplate on this heatsink (the one you install at the back of the board has a peel off thing to stick. Are you (did you) stick it on the back of the board. Also it has like a a little transparent plastic following the cross shape of the backplate. Am I supposed to have those...

QUESTION: 1) Did you have any mounting problems with the Thermalright Ultra-Extreme? Like not enough mounting pressure? Or used a coin or a washer toreduce the temps on it(Google Ultra-120 Penny) 2) In your current configuration did you take the front panel plastic covers out (Like Mike Chin just m...

I was wondering where you've routed all your front panel connectors and especially (if you are using it) the front panel audio connector? After you remove the black panels, you have these perfect holes to route the cables through: http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee116/konnetikut/spcr%20build/fpa...

Your 9HDD server is quite impressive as well 8) As for mine, I got so busy posting pictures I didn't really say what I wanted to say: -after the fan replacements, the computer is even quieter. Mega Update. Sorry it took so long. To answer a few questions first: 1) one quick question...how much does your ultra 120 hang over the NB? would it be possible to fit an HR-05 on the nb? the width of the HR-05 base is 30mm, but the fins are actually only about 19 mm wide (according to specs), so a...

Re: need help choosing case fans for Antec P180

are you saying you don't have a fan on the top exhaust or the top chambers front intake? Yes, I am. Surprise? I would put a top exhaust as well, but I don't have the right fan to do so. I only have one spare D12SL-12, but it's not exactly suitable because: 1) closed corners / P182 top fan clip moun...

I have decided to layout my build just like Konnetikut here  You need to caption properly (ie. directly above or below pic) You're absolutely welcome to use my pics, of course. As for fans... 1) TR120UE: S-FLEX SFF21E...reported as ~450 RPM in BIOS. It's soooo slow. If I stop it, it doesn't st...

Seeing so many people already using the DS3 boards nice and quietly, I'd say there's a good chance that there won't be a problem with yours. There is another person (not the OP - that's me) experiencing problems with the P though. Got my RMA back, it's working well now. (albeit some oddities that I'...

Hi there,

Maybe you've seen it, maybe you haven't, but my recent build uses the 520HX - which is plenty of power, and more than enough headroom for any foreseeable expansion. See sig for details.

It's always good to save money without sacrificing quality 8)

How many fan headers does your mobo have?
It didn't change anything, last time I tried.
The fan headers are:
CPU_FAN (4pin)
SYS_FAN1 (3pin)
SYS_FAN2 (4pin)
PWR_FAN (3pin)

About those fanmates, cant your mobo control the fans hooked up to the 3pin headers? Is it actually possible? Maybe I haven't looked hard enough in the BIOS. In any case, I'd like a fanmate where I could just tweak it whenever I wanted. Looks like I'll RMA my PSU soon, hopefully the next one is buz...
