I have this problem all the time. What I do, if I can remember the lyrics, is simply type them into google + the keyword 'lyrics.' Or, checkout metrolyrics.com, lyricstime.com, or any of the plethora of other lyrics sites out there. And sometimes, if you happen to know the approx. time + radio stati...

Interesting. After my post I read a review about the "lucrative" field of hardware review, the only caveat being you have to find companies willing to give you product to test. Well, I can't wait to see the new reviews. We're in the process of upgrading our workstations here at work, so I can't wait...

How do sites like SPCR obtain product for review?
I'm just wondering, now that we know Silent Mike will have enough cash to build out the new testing environment, how exactly does a spiffy new gizmo end up in the hands SPCR for an once over. Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I couldn't find anything concrete on this subject. I'm guessi...

Well Mike I'm fairly jealous about that setup. I'd love to have more room, as it stands no doing work inside the box is quite a bit of crouching and moving slow. On the same subject, I was wondering what you were planning on using for your measurement setup? Single mic or an array? Can't wait to see...

Just sent in my meager donation... good luck with the project, I use this site a lot for picking products I need for work. I'd like to offer just a little bit of 'constructive criticism' if you don't mind... An anechoic chamber with a 15db noise floor is difficult to achieve. One of the labs I work ...

Interestingly, awhile back I visited with my attorney and he complained about his computer's noise level. Mind you, this guy is deaf as a post with dual hearing aids. I told him I'd take a look at it sometime, thinking nothing of it until I visited him at home just the other day. Inside his study I ...

What your are talking about is sound insulation, and not really absorption. You don't want to 'erase' the sound as much as you want to stop its transmission through your doorway, or conversely, insulate the sound so it stays in your room. Sound transmission, in general, is proportional to mass; the ...

Awesome idea! I can't wait to test this out, as my fans still get some harmonics despite all the soft mounting in the world. I tried the Arctic Cooling one similar to this, but it was way to noisy. Don't worry about the patent, your right about it being expensive and difficult. You could get a provi...

I don't know of any sites specifically. However, if it's a notebook you are after, I'd look for anything that uses an Intel Core 2 Duo U-series processor. The "U" stands for Ultra-Low voltage, and they use the least power out of any other mobile processors you're likely to find in current retail not...

Re: Photovoltaics
Many states now have laws requiring fluorescents to be returned for recycling, I know CA does. I do think they need to make any retailer accept dead bulbs for recycling to make it easier so people aren't tempted to dump them in the trash, just like how auto parts shops accept used oils for recyclin...

Knowing that these bulbs also contain far more hazardous materials than an incadescent, I think my use of them has been a net loss to the environment. This is another argument against the politicized environmental arena, and the whole product regulation verses subsistence regulation. (Do we ban bad...

Photovoltaics
The OP raised a very good point, not often discussed in mass media, but something that is definitely considered in the science and engineering of Solar arrays. Is a renewable energy source always efficient? The answer is yes an no; but in general an array of photovoltacis will pay for itself in the ...

Is there a good replacement heatsink for 8800 series GPU?
Greetings, Long time lurker who has been taking SPCR advice for a while to silence my gaming computer addiction, literally. Once you go down this road, I guess there is no turning back. Which is why I'm curious if anyone has found a good heat sink for the 8800 series video-cards. I've done a search ...
