I guess I was really trying to ascertain what drawbacks having a needlessly overpowered psu would bring. there aren't really any, apart from the extra noise (the fan in a 1000W unit will be a higher-speed model to deal with the huge amount of heat at full load; that's rarely good for silence). IMO,...

LGA775 holes are positioned in a square so they can rotated 90 degrees without problem. The only problem you might have is using RAM modules with very tall heatsinks fitted. but otherwise the heatsink may over hang the RAM slots, but you can still fit and remove modules, might just be a bit trickier...

I read the initial post, straight cut isn't recommended much?

So its either right or left cut, I'm right handed so right cut is most recommended?

Does the Twin Turbo hang over the card like the HR-03 coolers? I'd like to get a cooler that's more or less the same width as the VGA card. with 80mm fans, this might work out. it should be the same width as the card PCB, height above the card is roughly the same as the AC S1 without fan. basically...

it shouldn't, I have a Q6600 at 3.24GHz (folding 24/7) and 8800GT, during gaming my HX620W doesn't increase in sound according to corsair its 18dBA until 40% load, and 23dBA at 50% load for the HX520W 18dBA 40% 20dBA 50% 23dBA 60% So the increased load shouldn't cause fan ramping. 9 blades deals with alot of backpressure if it's static pressure you want you should choose the Ultra Kaze (who makes up these names? ), 38mm deep. the 9 blade version won't actually provide a lot of backpressure, because of the large spaces between the blades. Tuniq only fits 25mm thick fans
