Re: What about Fractal Design Tesla PSU?

So how is this PSU?
I read here that the internally it's "almost" the same as Nexus NX-5000.
I'm considering getting it because it's the closest thing to my budget - exceeds it by almost 10 € already, but the second closest thing (said Nexus) is another 15...

Yes i've read up about partition alignment for use in XP however, none in the case of using Windows 2000. A few months is more like it. If not less. There's a lot of space for improving bandwidth.

Yes, but when updating the firmware you lose all data. And if you get a bad 1199 IRC firmware when building a new PC, tough luck. So IMO the update must be done on a different machine, not a new build. Just make a partition image and store it temporarily on another drive. And most people know sb. w...

Depends on the controller, doesn't it?
I thought you would use an ordinary on-board SATA controller, with a max bandwith of 300 MB/sec. About the "unnecessary", I am sorry, that was a bit harsh indeed.
That's "theoretical 300 MB/s per drive", not for all drives together.

Many manufacturers are going to flash, but AFAIK none gave up RAM business it was in already.

With all the SSD talk around... are RamDisks other than the HyperOS Hyperdrive (5 or 5M now) being improved? There seems to be so little info about this on the net. Do you know about advancements in these directions? Acard is the only in consumer area now. HyperOS buys from them. It seems a dead en...

It looks like it clearly states it's MLC flash memory (vs. volatile RAM used in devices like FusionIO) . Still not a product I would look at to purchase, though. FusionIO is not a RAM device. It's just regular flash, SLC or MLC depending on a model. My mistake. So why are all these other SSDs so sl...

No, wear leveling starts from day zero. As the name suggests, it's meant to keep all cells equally worn out. Think of using 1 cell at the time. It wears out and gets replaced. Another one, ... Your drive dies after all replacements +1 cell are gone, which is ~5-10% of possible lifetime with wearing ...

I will definitely go for a Vertex once they settle in the market for good. With the stuttering gone I think I can deal with making a backup every now and than for the sake of performance.
