Sleeve or Ball Bearing?
I'm building a case with a single intake fan on the bottom. Thinking about using a 140mm Yate Loon. Now the question. Do I want a sleeve or ball bearing? I seem to recall it matters when the fan is going to be horizontal, but I forget the answer. Thanks.

Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2
Does the Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 support ECC? I can't tell from the web site. Can someone who's got one chime in?

Firewall and server, which mobo?
Hi all,
I'm building a firewall and a server. The firewall will boot from a CF disk. The server will boot from a pair of Western Digital RE2-GPs (RAID 1). Which motherboard/cpu/power supply should I use? I am running these out of my house and would like to keep power consumption low.

I am convinced for a positive pressure case that this is pretty close to optimal.
Just slap a fan on it and you are done.

I need to get a socket 771 motherboard for a server I am building. Does anyone know if it is possible to mod a Ninja to work with this motherboard?

Re: Integrated or discrete graphics?
Huh? :?: Unless the motherboard doesn't come with a PCI-E x16 or AGP slot, you should be able to add a video card. Of course I can buy a card, but this is SPCR. An unnecessary expansion card is an unnecessary obstruction to airflow. Anyhow, I was just thinking that if I could find a motherboard wit...

Integrated or discrete graphics?
I just need 2D video for a server I am building. Is integrated video going to negatively impact performance? Should I go discrete? If discrete, are there any motherboards that do this? What card do you suggest?

Which memory should I get?
After pouring over the reviews, I am slowly coming to a decision on my list of components. The one thing I cannot figure out is memory. There are just too many different ratings. I would rather not pay for more than what I need. As of now, I am planning to get a C2D, and while performance is importa...

How would someone go about doing this?rhelmer wrote:Why not just short-stroke a slower-spinning drive? If you take a 500 GB 7200 RPM drive and short-stroke it to, say 125 GB, you'll get fantastic latency performance.
