I've been looking at the SR107 as well, I just have 2 reservations... 1. The cost with 8 hotswap cages is a little high, about $290. Did you purchase the case with these included, or did you get them separately? I can only find them separately, for $70 or more each, plus shipping. 2. With 8 drives i...

Marginal, eh? The review I posted seems to suggest that having a little air flow next to it (PSU, exhaust) makes it quite usable. And since we're talking about redundancy, its funny that you post and repeat what GamingGod suggested, except more condescendingly. If you don't like this thread, let it ...

Heat Pipe Lovin

I already have spent enough $$ chasing down the best heatsink, but this looks great for someone who could use a heatsink.

I finally bought this PSU...

I blew it with a hairdryer for a long time (3-5 mins?) and the fan didnt seem to speed up. It sure is quiet, but does anyone know if the fan will speed up a lot if it needs to? I think this PSU would let the case temps go too high before running at high speed.

He says he held the DB meter right next to the PSU exhaust, so presumably it would be much quieter at a more common testing position.

2 80mm intakes for great justice

Lian-Li and Coolermaster have 2 80mm intakes in their cases... my friend's lian-li is very quiet with this setup (aside from the 4 WD hds) Are there any non-wallet-blasting cases with 2 80mm intakes? Or, which cases have the best front-bezel design? With a more open front bezel, 2 rear exhausts and ...

Ahh, the probe seems to add 10C, because it says the temp outside my case is 32C.

This didnt make sense until I remembered that one of the bios updates increased the cpu temp probe reading 10C to more accurately reflect the real die temp, and this probe is plugged into the cpu probe pins.

Is my PSU/CPU overheating?

I bought 2 18CFM NMB fans and put 1 in my PSU and 1 as a case exhaust.

My ASUS A7V (KT133) shows MB temp of 39 celcius, and a temp probe in the PSU shows the air is 48 celcius.

These are load figures.. too hot, or OK?

From looking at the volts vs. CFM vs. air pressure chart, I dont think the relation between volts and CFM is linear.

Lower voltages will drop CFM more quickly at the same air pressures.

About sealing up the back vents.. I am not sure about covering those, because maybe they're there to encourage air to flow over components back there? Does the back of your PSU get hot?

There is another way to look at it. Example: 80mm fan pushing 53 CFM = 39 dBA 120mm fan pushing 55 CFM = 26 dBA Since noise is doubled ever 3 dBA, the above example shows the 120mm fan is 1/3rd as noisy as the 80mm. Granted many of us from this forum wouldn't be using fans at high CFM, but the poin...

Google decibels, its a scale. Every 10 decibels = 10 times more noise. To figure out the difference in noise of 2 fans, take 10^((louder_fan_noise - quieter_fan_noise) / 10) which will give you the number of times louder the louder fan is. To find the decibel difference that yields twice the noise, ...

I am eyeing this PSU as well. It can be had for a bit cheaper at newegg.com, $32 shipped. Still, a cheap...
