Re: Time to update from 2011
My components finally arrived, except the case which I'm getting in a few days. Already put everything together, but I have a few issues: I wasn't sure if I want to use the motherboard heatsink for SSD or the Corsair one. But since I was not able to move the screws for mounting the heatsink to SSD s...

Re: Time to update from 2011
None of the apps I use are particularly CPU intensive. The longest time I wait is when I open a big Photoshop file thats why I went for the PCIE4.0 connected SSD. Most of the stress comes from having at least 10 applications opened all the time and don't bother closing. And each browser about 50 ope...

Re: Time to update from 2011
Now the motherboard that has gotten decent reviews and its not that expensive ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS. Makes no sense to pay over 500€ for a motherboard. How does this one compare to my choice ASUS Prime X570-Pro? What passively cooled GPU would you recommend? Need it just for displayport/hdmi ou...

Re: Time to update from 2011
When I look at the ASUS Prime X570-Pro motherboard, it has Displayport and HDMI output, but if I don't buy Ryzen with integrated GPU, those outputs are useless? What would be the best motherboard for Ryzen 3700X with X570 chipset?

Re: Time to update from 2011
The fan can be annoying, to say the least, if you use the M.2 slot communicating through the chip. Not recommended. If you use the primary M.2 slot that communicate directly with the CPU it shouldn't be a problem, though I wouldn't bet on it. If I understand correctly, motehrboard has two M.2 slots...

Re: Passive graphic card
I currently have 5750 and I use 2x DVI to display 2560x1440 on my LCD and at the same time I use HDMI to display 1080p on my HDTV.

Passive graphic card
Is there a passively cooled graphic card that has at least 2x DVI output (for monitor 2560x1440 res.) and 1x HDMI?

Advice on a new system
Hi, I use my computer for web design, programming, Photoshop and mostly run virtual OS or two. I barely play games, but I might play Rift. The computer is on 24/7. The most important part is that it needs to be reliable, quiet and fast (in that order). Old components that I would like to keep but wi...

LC6350 350W Super-silent vs Tagan380-UO1 380W
I've been upgrading my main PC and server. The biggest surprise was that I bought a new LC 350W power supply with 12cm fan so that my 24/7 server would be dead quiet. I was shocked that it actually a lot louder then the Tagan which is cooled with two 8cm (I think) fans. Am I doing something wrong or...

The problem is I haven't seen an Antec or CoolerMaster or Lian Li in real life and there is probably no way to do it in my country. That makes picking a case even harder. But I do now that I want a classic look that Lian Li has, meaning no plastic outside. So on this one I'll take the looks over fun...

Need a finishing touch before buying my silent PC
With the help from posts on this forum and reviews on SPCR I have decided to buy: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Sockel-775 boxed 3x1GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Gold GX XTC ASUS P5B-E Plus, P965 PowerColor Radeon X1950 Pro, 256MB GDDR3, 2x DVI, TV-out, PCIe (A57C-TD3) 2x Samsung SpinPoint T166 320GB 16MB SATA II (...

If I gonna go with HR-03 which graphic card in similar price range and performance would be easiest to cool? In other words its most power efficient. Can you elaborate on this? Do you want a card that you can run passively with the HR-03? Or a card that you can cool quietly? A HR-03 can cool a X195...

Thanks for reply. I want it as silent as possible, but I'm sure other components will make some noise as well (Core 2 Duo, Raid0,...). Though I want it silent only when I'm browsing, writing, Photoshoping in Vista. I don't care about the noise when I'm gaming. What if I fit say Scythe Minebea Silent...

Size doesn't really matter as the components and cooler fit. The first priority is the looks, 2nd quitnes (especially for HDDs). I will upgrade to DX10 graphic card but probably after the power requirments are reduced (card is shrinked). So atm my first choice remains Lian Li-B20A (need two cases ac...

Which case: Lian Li B20A/101/A10A or Antec P180
I can't decide between the following cases. I love the classic style on all though I think Lian Li look better. Is Antec all in plastic on the outside? The problem is that where I live there is no chance to see either in person. Anyone saw Lian Li and Antec together and can share the impression? The...

Need advice on building a quiet C2D system and server
Need a new system that I plan to OC only when needed (probably when Crysis comes out). My first priority is that I can't hear it from 2m where I sleep. I've been thinking about the following components: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Sockel-775 boxed OCZ Gold GX XTC DIMM Kit 2048MB PC2-5300U CL4-4-4-12 (DDR...
