The instructions would have likely been useless when it comes to cabling. I use lots of zip ties (several dozen) although most will end up being removed by the time I'm done. I focus on keep in the cables orderly, out of the airflow path, and positioned so that components can be easily removed with...

No you do not need to remove your board to put this cooler on. The bracket screws onto the bottom of the heatsink then clips into whatever stock bracket you use.

It works awesome for my 3.0ghz northwood now overclocked to 3.5ghz.

As I work for ncix the only way to get them is special order :( I picked up a s-flex and was surprised at the amount of air movement to noise ratio.

urgh stay away from Intel boards. They maybe stable but thats about it, go for the p5b or gigabyte 965-ds3 if you don't plan to overclock.

I would have gone with a Seagate drive and a nvidia card, but you'll be happy either way.

Asus p5b is a wicked board thats been tried and true time and time again along with the gigabyte 965-ds3

is there any way at all to have a powerful graphics card that's near-silent during regular tasks?
In a very quiet room open up your case and listen to your card and adjust the speed accordingly.

Mind you the 8xxx series are already pretty quiet cards tho.

4x92 ; 1x250

In a case project I have going I'm debating to put either 1 250mm fan from a Antec 900 on the rear of a case or stick 4 92mm on the back.

Now my question is which would create more noise? I'm going to assume the 4x92, but would the 4x92 move more air than 1x250?

nvidia cards by default generally run at 100% fan speed in all modes and are very noisy especially the BFGs. Best bet is to grab rivatuner and turn the fan speed in 2d mode down to about 60% and you'll notice a huge difference in noise reduction from the card.

If there was an advantage, how much could you have? Ahhh good ole linux, the operating system that runs awesome on 128mb of ram or 4gb of ram. Wi...
