which PS optimal for Q6600?
ofcourse im refering to optimal power-to-noise ratio.
will a HX520 be enough?
(there will be two maybe three harddrives and a single g8600)
then again i just saw some posts in which people are trying to replace the fan in their corsair PS'
is there a quieter/more preferred choice?

reaching no more than 22 dBA[/url] at 250 Watt DC output (which I assume is going to be the maximum consumption of my new PC, a Q9450, P35-DS3, GeForce 8800GT, one T166 320 GB and one optical drive). isnt the 8800GT going to be the noisiest component of this system? probably way louder then the VX ...

i appreciate the time you put into your reply. it seems you are a big fan of the WD GP, and i have no doubt that it will smoke any 2.5 7200rpm unit. but what actual external drive out there do you think has the best performance-to-silence ratio? is there an external drive you would recommend? or do ...

Why does it have to be 7200rpm? why do so many people need to respond to a question with a question? (imagine you go to a store and say youre looking for a certain product, and the guy ask you why you need it) i was hoping that i wouldn't need to explain WHY i would like a 7200rpm drive, but since ...

quiet external enclosure/drive
im looking for a fanless 3.5 7200rpm external harddrive. ive assembled a anclosure with ide drive in the past and was not too impressed as the thing would turn on/off randomly (probably overheating) so i ended up just putting the drive inside a desktop. id like to try a pre-made product, perhaps som...

Doesn't this really depend on how much you want to spend? Unless you're going for a bleeding edge setup, the Ninja without a fan on it should cool just about any CPU as long as the back 120mm fan is within say 1" from the edge of the fins. The choice of vidcard could impact overall heat in the syst...

the new ninja has been reviewed by ProClockers:

long story short: the thermalright ultra120 beat it. (although the tests were done with a Noctua PF12 at 12 volts)

Ive seen standard cases with brackets bolted to the top/bottom, turned sideways and put into a 4U rackmount location. Not exactly sure what deminsions 4U is, but you could look it up and see if you could do this with a Solo case. yeah i but then id have to re-locate the dvdrw drive so it could sit ...

fastest core2duo cpu that can run passive on a ninja revB
i realize that a new line of chips are just now coming out from intel, but i was curious what is the current fastest core2duo cpu that can run passive with no overclock on a scythe ninja revB?
is quadcore possible? (Q6600)
and if not then can it be made silent (slow running cpu fan?)

heres the entire last sentence: "We were also impressed to see Skulltrail overclocked to 4.0GHz (default is 3.2GHz) and remain passively cooled in a system running two midrange ATI cards. The Nvidia version, with two 8800 GTX cards, was also overclocked, but required liquid cooling." so youre saying...

im in the process of finding a silent videocard for my next system and was wondering what are the differences between an nvidia 8500 and 8600 the quiet system is mainly being built for audio production, so video is NOT priority. however i would like to leave the option to also play a game here and t...

i was reading about the upcoming 'skulltrail' platform in this article here: http://ces.cnet.com/8301-13855_1-9843883-67.html?tag=more and right at the bottom of the article/page the author refers to the cpus being "passively cooled" meanwhile there are clearly fans on the heatsinks. i always though...

well i havent read all the posts but one thing is for sure: you have issues man.
