Re: Galaxy Tab vs iPad: Aluminum vs Plastic, strength & weig

I'm in the injection molding business. We are manufacturing automotive parts. Other than 'standard' materials such as ABS, PP, PE, there are also endless number of materials, which we call engineering plastics. These are resins that are being produced by mixing different off-the-shelf plastics with ...

The weights are getting really silly. That's almost 1.5 kg (3.30 lb)

It can't be that one would need to hang a 1.5 kg metal mass on a filigrane motherboard just to cool a CPU.

Engineers should come up with new cooling technologies.

I just took the plunge today and installed FF3. Prior to installing, I uninstalled FF2 and made a clean install. Sorry guys/gals, but I hate to admit that the current version is a total mess. The CPU usage is jumping up and down, reaching 100% occasionally and making the browser totally unusable. Af...

I remember reading in some reviews that you could put a 80mm fan (x10mm) if you want to cool the motherboard.

This feature comes both on CM 690 and 590.

I'm curious: which direction does the air flow? I'm curious about the energy balance. Real mass (air) is being accellerated from standstill to a moving column of air, just like a regular fan. Thus, the air gains kinetic energy. This energy has to come from somewhere. So at least one of the two elec...

I think this heatsink should do good mostly if you have a fan on the case panel, otherwise it shouldn't perform too well. And you could connect the fan on the HSF to a fan on the side panel with a duct. Run both fans at the lowest rpm and there you'd have a nice setup. This would also let you *I th...
