a "safe" temp is anything below the listed thermal threashold for any specific piece of electronics. you should look each of them up on its company's website to learn what they are. most HD's are 55c i think C2D's will "throttle" at 70c, though i'm not sure (so dont quote this one). video cards can...

What are normal temperatures, and how should i monitor them?

I can't seem to find normal operating temperatures for my system's components. Do I need to only worry about temp for the CPU and my video card or is it important to monitor other components? anyway my specs are p180 p5b deluxe e550 c2d ultra-120 with fan 8800 gts 320meg 2gig ram memory 3 internal h...

i have this psu, the 600W model, for the last 2 months. I don't know or follow any of this techy mumbo jumbo that you might measure it's efficiency, loudness etc by but it's been very good so far. I can't even hear it's fan over the sound of my p180's stock fans that are running on lowest speed

hi socktoy, i built a pc with pretty much identical specs as yours, but i didn't install the ultra 120 cpu heatsink with fan cos i was shocked at how heavy the thing was, i didn't want to overstress the asus p5b deluxe PCB. is it really fine with it on? or does it feel like it could crack the mobo p...

Ok I don't know what you are spicifically asking. I'll explain Crossfire, Dual Moniters, and chipsets. Ok, You want to get a X1950pro. It's a great midrange graphics card for gaming. The card has two DVI connectors on it. So you could plug in two LCD's into the card. Crossfire is using two ATI grap...

965 chipset doesn't support ATI crossfire dual-vga

Hello, I am quite new to computing, I am building a desktop for myself and read the above quote in a computer magazine. I wish to use a modern graphics card like the radeon X1950PRO and to have two LCD monitors. Can I plug my two LCD monitor to the back of these kinds of graphics cards? I plan on ge...

P5B Deluxe w/ overclocked E6600: Fan Cooling options

I'm starting modestly but within the year I'll probably be dabbling in overclocking and perhaps a dual SLI NV 7950GT.

Will I be able to cool this easily in my P180 case using fans from Zalman etc.. or should I consider a different MOBO?
