Thermaltake Urban T31, Antec P100

Still clinging to my Antec Solo (passed on the Solo II), but with a new powerpig video card in the works, it's time for something that can move a little more air yet still suppress some roar. I'd been kind of resigned to trying a Fractal R4, but these have both been announced recently: http://www.th...

Re: Antec Solo a decent case ?

I have three of them, they're my favorite cases. Sturdy and quiet. The power and reset
buttons are below par (plastic "springs", not very durable), a minor blemish on an otherwise
great design.

Maxorbs finally started shipping last week, mine arrived this morning. It took about half an hour to pull my nf-m2, remove the old sink & bracket, clean up the cpu surface and install the new bracket. The new bracket threaded right into the back plate that came with the nf-m2, btw -- no need to use ...

I tried it, and it's definitely not the heatpipe cooling solution. I'm pretty unhappy with eWiz right now... :x Ugh! I looked at eWiz's site, and while the picture and description are of the passive model, the "-B" on the model number is for the fan-cooled model (pretty awful on gigabyte's part). S...

There is a known issue with the NF-M2 not properly reporting Brisbane temps. Dear Customer, Our BIOS development is already working this issue. The problem is caused by the coding changes in the new Brisbane core processors. Thus, the BIOS may or may not read the CPU temperature correctly. The next ...

So far Asus's only silent card is the underwhelming 8500gt. :(

Though I'm sure it's a perfect card for some...

[ this used to be a link to what appeared to be the passively cooled gigabyte card at eWiz, but the picture and description didn't match the model, so it's gone. i don't feel like rewarding eWiz for their still-present error with a corrected link, and there are a number of passive 8x00 cards out now...

Still no availability on the Maxorb (and overclocker cafe's review indicated the unit might not be quiet enough to suit my tastes anyway), so I'm making a plan B. Thermalright XP-120 (w/AM2 rev B adaptor), coupled with a Noctua NF-S12-1200 . Welcome any comments on this setup, particularly whether i...

need cooler for nsk2400/x2 5200+

Built my first PC with some emphasis on "quiet" in some years. It's an nf-m2 mobo, 2g ddr2, an x2 5200+ in an nsk2400. A Zalman vf900-cu has already remedied noise problem #1, the stock cooler on the evga 7900gs. But now that the weather is beginning to warm up, it's becoming clear that the stock cp...
