Re: Antec Solo fan question

Hi, im thinking about an Antec Solo. I want to have an 800rpm Slip Stream in the back and i want to have airflow over my HDs so i wanna have an intake aswell. How is this one compared to Slip Streams in terms of cfm/sound ? http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/035/sy1012sl12_detail.html And does i...

M-audio is one of my favorite

I really like this AuzenTech since it has both optical and coax digital out.

All black SOLO anyone? Yes please :) I'm quite pleased w/ my solo, matches my tv which is silver/black. What I'd really like to see is a solo on it's side, htpc cases are too small, and I'd like the 5.25 bay to sit horizontal w/ the case on it's side. I'd also like a 120mm or 140mm in front of the ...

You'd really want a si97a but they are discontinued, you might try posting in a few fs/ft threads, ars, amdmb, here, eocf, etc. I saw on on ebay a while back for full price $30 nib.

First glance I expected single rail 58amps. It 4 rails? Too many things I don't like about this psu in the review. I have liked the earlier decathlons and will probably keep them high on my list next time I am purchasing a psu, but this one doesn't seem ready for prime time. The DA700 is indeed con...

I bought the high speed one, cuz it was like half price of the others at the egg, it's in the intake of my solo. W/ the fan controller it's pretty quiet about 1000rpms but will stall out under that. I'd say 5v is going to be 1000rpm.

wow 85 views and not a single comment. I went w/ the high rpm since it was cheaper, and I'm hoping the fan controller can keep it down when idle.

high rpm for fan controller?

New solo build. For plenum pressuring it has been recommeded 2 x 92 might work best, My main concern is silence but another concern is cost, the high rpm is only $5 from the egg I'm going to put one 100mm in the front of my solo w/ a fan controller. Would it be best to go w/ a high rpm fan so there ...

If you're really building a gaming system you won't be happy w/ those gpu's. Also why have some one else do it. You could go w/ a much beefier cpu and still cost less. You could easily get a 3.0ghz after oc. There are tons of threads about how to oc your new 5000be or c2d.

no you won't want to run the SI97A passive, I've got a 120mm strapped to it, but it's made to take a 80 or 92.

Don't add an 80mm to the front if it's silence you're looking for. If it's just plain cooling you're after a 92 would be a little quieter.

folding your flat ide cables will help airflow alot.

If you're going to get new fans the 3.99 yl 120mm I already linked can't be beat. Undervolted 80mm will never be as quiet as undervolted 120mm. Search for fanbus, you'll need a double pole double throw switch.

First off, its skt A, there is no real aftermarket CPU coolers worth a darn for them. They run hot and the tiny heatsinks require tiny high spinning fans to keep cool. The case looks cheap and made of thin metal. The PSU looks almost as bad. Don't sink too much work into it. You'll be disappointed ...

We've got a very noisy bathroom fan... Isn't the point of a bathroom fan to be noisy? Also, would you run your ventilation system continuously? I've read the product manual for a high end video projector that required a cooling duct connection. If I were doing this, I would say cut out the bottom of the cabinet where the case will sit, leave some supports and use some mesh, also cut out some holes in the back, directly behind the exhaust as well as at the back of the bottom to allow for some intake flow. Use a hole saw for a clean look, bu...

I'm glad I found this site, I didn't realize how loud my hairdryer of a desktop really was! When Modding my case last year, I had 4 80mm panaflos 2 intake 2 exhaust, an 80mm on the cpu-hs. 120mm blowhole, 120 side intake over the cpu-hs and 120mm in the s12-330 (seasonic psu). That's alot of fans ev...

I am going to be removing all of my 80mm fans from my case and will only be using 120's in an effort to silence this beast. I have a 120 in the side window directly over the hs ( I cut it there). 120 in the psu, 120 aft of the hdds and blowing on the agp( I removed the 40mm fan already) I also have ...
