I thought the 120mm Nexuses were already a nominal 1000RPM @12V? Yes, they are. I looked through the article again, and it seems I confused them with Scythe S-Flex fans, which have three versions (800, 1200 and 1600). I think I shouldn't undervolt the 120mms then. 22dBA is quiet enough, and I'll ne...

Which fans should I undervolt (Antec Solo case)
Hello, I'm going to have three undervoltable (is there such a word?) fans in my Solo case - a front 92mm Nexus, and two 120mms - exhaust fan and the one on the CPU heatsink (also Nexii). The question is, which of them, if at all, should I undervolt (and to how much)? (Additional info - my setup is g...

Hello, I'm fairly new here, so I will comment on the non-silence related hardware, which I have more experience with. Memory - I wouldn't go for the Corsair RAM. They lately started using Promos chips for their memory (except for the Dominator series, which is badly expensive) which are not as of hi...

dude? P35 is garbage. Consumes MORE. Gaming performance is WORST. And its cost almost double. go for it, Forrest. Hmm, that's not correct. There are no reviews of any P35 boards on any of the big hardware sites yet (Tom's Hardware, HardOCP, etc), but the impressions of those who are al...

The HR-03 Plus with a fan mounted takes up at least 3 PCI slots. Thanks for the info - I didn't realize how huge those things are. I guess it's absolutely out of question for me then - I need all three PCI slots (2 sound cards, one of them needs two slots). But if as you say the stock cooler is not...

I apologize if this is slightly off-topic, but I didn't think it's worth its own thread. For those who did choose to replace the stock cooler with an HR-03 plus, how much space does the entire construction take (card + heatsink + fan)? And more specifically, does it block a PCI slot? More on topic -...

Thanks, KD. I've thought already about zip ties, but I'm not sure what to fix them to in a Solo case. In any case, it's a bit annoying that a product requires modding out of the box. On the other hand, the Infinity, which I planned on buying, weighs even more, so I suppose it has the same problem. I...

Thanks for the replies! It's quite a surprise to find out you don't need all those 1200W PSUs :D (I read the other thread as well.) As things seem, I'll probably go for the Antec HE 430W, as I can get it inside a p150 for a very low price. For some reason I could only find M-series Seasonics availab...

Help needed choosing a PSU
Hello, I'm trying to do a strange thing - to build a mid-high end gaming computer while keeping it as silent as I can. The setup should be roughly as follows: - Intel e4300, which I plan to overclock to 3.0 GHz (should be possible without raising the vCore voltage) + Scythe Infinity - motherboard - ...
