Re: Will Seasonic Prime 1000W be quieter than 750W?
This one has locked off PSU compartment from the rest of the system, which I'm not sure yet how good of an advantage it is, but it seems nice. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NZXT/H440/images/instpsu0.jpg It wouldn't look like a smart move: you likely won't heat up the rig, but you will heat up...

Re: R5 vs NZXT H440, could this be a cooler and quieter case
I was just wondering why isn't H440 mentioned here more as a contender to silentpc builds. Because ...It's with some misgivings that we chose not to award SPCR's Recommendation to the NZXT H440. It has a lot going for it, not least of all a very sturdy build and unique, handsome styling. But the su...

Re: Will Seasonic Prime 1000W be quieter than 750W?
that the old X series had a quieter fan profile than the new Primes? Who knows? The old X-series got a temp controlled (thermistor) fan, the Titanium Primes got a new IC-based fan controller. BTW having a PSU with a too wide fanless operation range might be counterproductive, because it will likely...

Re: Will Seasonic Prime 1000W be quieter than 750W?
I'm not sure sesonic are load based, i think they are temp based, but i could be wrong. Corsair's RMx and up SKUs use an MCU which can be programmed to have a certain fan curve according to actual load and duration of speed at given RPMs. While Corsair was the only player to exploit a load controll...

The app even goes as far to recommend me a 1000W PSU itself. https://outervision.com/b/DmPkqY The outervision calculator is just a marketing tool which puts out random figures. At best it's unreliable, more probably that not it's deceiving. TL;DR: forget it. If you have an 115x CPU, likely you won'...

Re: Need opinion on a gaming build: i5-7600k + GTX 1070 Amp
Would a 650W PSU be good if I choose GTX 1080 Ti for example? Good for what? Quietness? The most demanding 1080Ti will draw around 400W at most: but the most demanding 1080Ti would be noisy as hell (Zotac, I'm looking at you), so the only answer is: it depends, but power wise 650W are way more than...

Re: Computex 2017, several new goodies by Noctua
Noctua: A fan fours years in the making @ Computex 2017 Seems $30 MSRP for the NF-A12 25, like half more.... Can't say for dollar countries, here in Italy the prices for a 120mm will be ~13 EUR (P12/S12 Redux) / ~17 EUR (regular P12/S12/F12 brownies) / ~24 EUR (F12 iPPC) / ~30 EUR (new A12 brownie)...

TTBOMK, yes; and, as already said, virtually no fan at 2200rpm will be quieter.

Computex 2017, several new goodies by Noctua
JFYI

BTW, IIRC it's at least a couple of years that Noctua is tinkering around those new "A series" fans:

Re: Silencing and Overclocking a 5930k
About the thermal paste, which one did you use? Arctic MX-4. That's rather good: you should be able to shave off a couple of degree with some (more expensive) higher performance paste (like the Prolimatech PK3 or the Thermalright Chill Factor III, IME), but the MX-4 is quite good. And what about fl...

At last Noctua introduces the 200mm fan and other goodies...
Noctua releases its long awaited big fan, along with some other goodies, like a slim 120mm fan and an external PWM fan controller.

Re: Silencing and Overclocking a 5930k
Thanks for sharing. I didn't understand two things: did you just remove the HDD cage or did you even mount a second front intake fan? And what about flipping the top fan from exhaust to intake? Can't it be an easy experiment to carry on? Last but not least, about the thermal paste, which one did you...

That page also states that fanless PSUs should be mounted with the vents up. I appreciate the advice, but in this instance I would rather not take the risk, particularly given that this machine runs at near full-power 24/7. No, I'm sorry, but I guess you didn't take it that straight. Those Seasonic...

Re: Silencing and Overclocking a 5930k
Do you mean as a top-front intake or top-rear intake? I haven't tried either. Flipping that top fan is such a quick check that you should. If you mean flipping it on its top so that the vents face down, the manual specifically says not to do that because it relies on residual airflow from the case ...

I'd prefer not to use liquid cooling, in case of leakage due to my mishandling; but otherwise silence & performance are key points. Under load, you cannot have a quiet SLI of Ti without liquid cooling, that's my opinion. If you don't want tubing inside the case, you may resort to an external water ...
