Re: Just bought Sspphire R7 260X rattle noise when fan ramps
Thanks for the reply, I looked around I can't see anything to cause the issue other then the fan it's self, with ear closer it sounds more like a grunting noise as the fan ramps up. It didn't start doing it till today, with about 30 hours on it, just called Newegg and set up an RMA see what another ...

Just bought Sspphire R7 260X rattle noise when fan ramps up?
I been holding off buying a graphics card for years, my last card was a passive cooled 3850 Ultimate so I know "anything" will be an upgrade at this point. That said I bought the Sapphire R7 260X from Newegg...PC has been up for 48 hours now since install I'm noticing when I put the computer to slee...

Re: Exaust fan: low RPM or speed controller, recs?
AFAIK MSI use "Control Center" as a way to control the fan speeds of the PWM headers from within windows. And i maybe wrong as ive only had a quick look but doesn't you MoBo come with 1x CPU fan PWM, 2x Case fan PWM, 2x Case fan Normal (3pin) ? Edit: Im guessing you have the exhaust fan attached to...

Exaust fan: low RPM or speed controller, recs?
Ok so I rebuilt my system reusing old case, and fans till I have money for a better case. My new mobo (see sig) doesn't have much in the way of fan control in the bios like I'm used to so right now my exhaust is running full tilt and drive me insane with the noise. The case is an old X-Blade case th...

Anyone experience w/MSI ZH77A-G43 & fan speeds?Ugh the noise
I just rebuilt my computer reusing my old case and case fans that I was fine with in my old build..For motherboard I went with the MSI ZH77a-g43 I'm not to use to these new fangled bios screens, but the only thing I'm seeing in there is Fan Speed1 and options of Auto, 50% - 100% I don't see anyway t...

Re: New MSI mobo 4 pin fan heaers, new fans or adaptor?
Thanks, the fan ran full speed with my old system and I really never heard it and its the middle fan 1400 RPM, I know they make one below it that spins at 900rpm. The only thing I ever heard with my old system was the noisy Intel hsfu that sounded like a prop plane. If this new one is anything like ...

New MSI mobo 4 pin fan heaers, new fans or adaptor?
I'm right in the middle of a new build, a core i3 3220 (Ivy), MSI ZH77A-G43, Kingston Hyperx Blu 8gb ram...There is one or two 3 pin headers and the rest are all 4 pin. I have several Scythe Karma Flow 2 120mm fans already in this case and more then happy with them...The front fan lead can not reach...

Re: Scythe Kama Flow 2 decent replacement for Globalwin NCB?
It has been demonstrated many times that push-pull fan configurations give very little improvement over single fans whether on the CPU cooler or on the Chassis. Push pull on a CPU cooler does give huge improvements at low fan speeds. When SPCR tested the Mugen 2 it went from mediocre to beating all...

Re: Scythe Kama Flow 2 decent replacement for Globalwin NCB?
Thanks all for the suggestions, not really looking to reconfigure the push/pull config mainly because I'm running in an ancient piece of junk case, it's only benefit is somewhat decent ventilation, though that's debatable with a sideways facing hard drive cage. The computer runs about as quiet as I ...

Scythe Kama Flow 2 decent replacement for Globalwin NCB?
My front 120mm intake fan is shot, is/was a Globalwin 120mm NCB Bearing fan, got about three years out of it. May sound like a decent life span, but I'm running an old metal Evercool 120mm exhaust fan that's on about the 8th year of life. Would the new Scythe Kama Flow 2 (1400 RPM) be a suitable rep...

Finally fixed DFI Ultra D & my opinions on heatsinks I t
A while back I started a thread about the DFI Ultra D with a noisy, dieing fan. If anyone runs into this problem with this board or similar Nvidia Nforce 4 (I know it's an old board, but I'm sure plenty are still running) here's what I found in testing. My case is an old Xblade case, well not extrem...

Ok so I tried the Enzotech I posted above, it definitely does not work, even with a 80mm fan hovering above it within 5 minutes of post I was at 50C and climbing. I have an Ultra D and use a Zalman ZM-NB47J for the northbridge. I do have some airflow directed over it though (undervolted 92mm fan). It's WAY cooler than the stock hair-dryer fan/heatsink combo. I would be hesitant to use it in an environment without airflow directed towards it, as it gets extre...

Can the Enzotech CNB-S1L cool the Nforce4 sufficiently?
My northbridge died on my DFI Lanparty Ultra D last year, I replaced it with the Evercool VC-RE. It has a very strong chemical new smell that won't burn off, and being in my room I can't have that. (I'm also very chemically sensitive as well, so it just won't work) If I rip it out and replace it wit...

Thanks for the replies, upon further investigation I decided to order theEvercool VC-RE I really wanted to get away from fans, but supposedly it's quieter and it's recommended by DFI for this board as a direct replacement. All in all about 10 bucks with Egg Saver shipping so I'll try it....

Need Heatsink for DFI Ultra D Nforce 4,will the enzotech fit
I have an older mobo, DFI Ultra D(socket 939 AMD) with an NFORCE 4 chipset. The fan is on it's last breath as I type this..
I was wondering if this Enzotech CNB-S1Lwill fit and or work? I'm open to any other suggestions as well.

I second the 8400GS. Only $10 more than the 7300GS and the H264 acceleration may come in handy down the road. 7300GT is not even worth considering, as its only advantage over the 7300GS is better 3D acceleration (games). What about a HD2400Pro , though? $5 cheaper than the 8400GS and, I believe, lo...

I just got my new GIGABYTE GV-RX24T256H (Radeon 2400xt) it refuses to display in DVI (with a known working monitor), if I just plug the DVI cable in there is no display. If I plug the Analogue cable in I have a display, but it starts getting wavy looking after 20 minutes. I called GIGABYTE they stat...

Can someone explain CoolNQuiet & does it really save pow
I been running my AMD 64 for a while and just recently learned how to enable Cool N Quiet. I was wondering if it does indeed save power or not? Isn't the power supply pulling the same amount of power from the wall regardless of how much power the CPU draws? The Cooler Master PSU I bought a while bac...

The front fan is running flat out, the rear fan is running about half speed, set in the bios, and to kick into full speed once the CPU hits 50C what thankfully it hasn''t. Will the Eevercool EC-VC-RE work on the Nvidia 6x Gpu's?
I'm looking to replace a dead fan on an Nvida 6200 PCIe, I saw this Evercool fan on Newegg and wondered A.) If it's any good, and B.) if it would work on my current card. I know there are more expensive coolers out there, but I don't want to spend that much money on such an antiquated card.

Anyone ever replace a fan in a laserjet 2100 printer?
I have an old Laserjet 2100, but it still works great, with the exception of the fan, it sounds like it has a bad bearing. Well after coming to the conclusion my front intake was a huge part of my noise issue, I have discovered another huge nuisance my Nvidia 6200 PCIe.
