I replied to Gigabyte support with a link to this thread, asking them if they are sure about the 12V, this is what they wrote back:
"We have double checked, the 4 pin system fan 2 does uses 12v"

Is there a dedicated gigabyte motherboard forum, similar to the ASUS VIP owners forum?

The plot thickens...

Gigabyte support replied this when I asked them what 5V PWM fan to use with the EP-45-DS3R:
"The fan header is actually 12v, there is an typo on the user manual.
Any standard system fan should not be an issue with the board"

Ok, if not Corsair, then what?

Here is a search at NewEgg for performance DDR2-1066 in 2 x 2GB configurations.
Brands I've heard of are OCZ, Corsair, and Mushkin.

I have narrowed my options to the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R . I will also be upgrading my E6600 CPU to a Q9650 . I am considering 4 x 2GB Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 TWIN2X4096-8500C5D memory. I know I said I only need a new mobo, but you know how one upgrade turns into another ;) Any comments on the com...

I would also be very interested to know how typical, e.g. Nexus, PWM fans behave when connected to this port on Gigabyte boards.

Thank you for the replies.

This is rather weird then :(

Are there any 5V PWM chassis fans out there?

Gigabyte 4-pin sys fan, 5V vs. 12V?

Hi, I am considering gettng a Gigabyte EP45-DS3R motherboard. The manual indicates that the system fan control header is a 4-pin, with 5V power. See page 24, SYS_FAN2: Pin-1 = Ground, Pin-2 = Speed Control, Pin-3 = Sense, Pin-4 = +5V, As far as I know the 4-pin PWM fans are 12V and not 5V, and is th...

My badaxe2 is the stable board, I use it in my server, and I wish I could find a new one for sale. Might be a silly question but why do you want to replace your badaxe? If it indeed is the moemory then replacing the mobo wont solve anything. Run some stability tests on it instead, memtest86 and/or prime95 for starters. Fiddle with the BIOS, maybe your ram and/or northbridge needs a little more v...

Replacement for Intel D975XBX2

Hi, I am looking for advice on a new motherboard. I am using an Intel D975XBX2 in my home server, and this machine has been running rock solid 24x7 for the last year. For my desktop PC and my HTPC I have used Intel DG33TL boards, one board died, the one in my HTPC is still good. I replaced the dead ...

Note the pretty LCD display picture from the SoundGraph OEM page compared to the poor results I am seeing.

Intel DG33TL, anybody else using this board?

Anybody using an Intel DG33TL board? I have two Intel DG33TL boards, both with E6600 CPU's, and 2 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix memory. I'm running Vista Ultimate x86. Two problems: 1) Sound driver from Intel website fails to install, while sound driver from DVD that came with board installs fine. Website...

Re: Same problem here

My LCD looks the same as yours. That is really too bad, I was expecting a pitch black background and very high contrast :( Yeah not too great, but is it meant to be that way?? I sure hope not, as is I'm thinking of returning the case, I can't see any detail on the display sitting in my livingroom. ...

I've just recently got an Antec Fusion V2, and love it. :) Question though - in this version the VFD is powered partially by three wires trailing off the 24 pin connector - which seems to be custom to the fusion. If i was to purchase a new psu - ie HX520 - is there some other way to power the VFD.....

Image of LCD: Sorry, as first time poster I can't quote links, I am referring to the image "Muntz" posted of his LCD display. I just installed my Antec Fusion Black and my LCD looks terrible. Your picture shows a black background, my LCD has a light blue background with dark blue text, completely u...
