thanks guys, i will get in touch with the vendor and see if they will swap it!
intel and their over complex thermal management, lack of specification about how it acctualy works, faulty core sensors and f...king PUSH PINS can suck my balls. lol
thanks for the help.

ok, but the main thing i am thinking is, does the 12-15.c difference between temps justify an rma? i mean does that make the cpu in any way faulty or is it in the "normal range" when playing a game if the cpu throttles you will suddenly loose fps, wich may mean i die lol as for cpu cooling i have th...

i got the temps from speedfan, and reltemp bios shows same readings... ive decided i am just going to speed up the fan to 800rpm (i pains me so) at 800 it still throttles under prime95 but takes ages to get there and doubt it will ever get there in real life usage. is there any program availble that...

Do I need to RMA my quad?
I bought a q8200 a few days ago rinning at 2.3ghz and 1.135v (lowest voltage option on my mobo)... there is a 15.c difference between core0 and core 4, core 0 rises to 72.c under load and begins throttling! i am using a xigmatek hdt cooler with a 600rpm fan and have remounted it, results were the sa...

just a little update, after many hours of swapping fans and stresstesting, ive found that flipping the rear fan so it faces in towards the cpu reduces the cpu temp by a whopping 10 - 12.c!! I've been thinking of doing this, but with both the rear and top fans on the P182. This means cold air coming...

hi, just throwing a few ideas your way... Sounds like you will end up with a nice set-up considering your buget. OK so, first off like Posty correctly said you dont NEED a 500w PSU. However, when going for a fan cooled PSU it is good to have some head room to make sure the fan doesnt spin up under h...

Hello, You have moved into the case of my dreams... :) This case is very popular in the forums from what I see; and for good reason. I like the tidyness and the fans.. I'm surprised that the "passive" GPU needs a fan over it to run below 100 C; the manufacturer should have thought of this (and this...

You mean by using the top fan as an intake instead of an exhaust you have lower CPU temps? I must try this too! not the very top fan, that one blows out, the rear fan blows in and the top fan blows out. The only downside is i get some hot air collecting around my optical bays that wasnt there, but ...

just a little update, after many hours of swapping fans and stresstesting, ive found that flipping the rear fan so it faces in towards the cpu reduces the cpu temp by a whopping 10 - 12.c!! not only that but other temps seem virtually untouched. it seemed unlikely that this would improve temps but i...

the quietest (silent) option would be to fit an ac acelero s1 to the cheapest reference board one you can find. dvi to hdmi adapters will not compromise the quality in any way, only difference is dvi doesn't carry audio. how ever it can and i think all the 4xxx seeies cards come with a dvi-hdmi adap...

cant get to the wd caviar se16 320gb review?
i cant seem to get to the wd caviar se16 320gb review from the recommended drive list, it takes me to the WD7500AACS review instead, happens with firefox and IE so think it may be a mistake on the spcr site?

looks good, i'm just surprised you went for S-Flex over Slipstream. I like the sound card, a lot, and that tube amp you've got, a magnificent choice, have quite a few lying around my school's radio station. i have the same thing in my rig, but i'm curious as to why you haven't moved to a SATA optic...

Finaly moved my system into a P182
Hi, So i finally bought myself a P182 for crimbo! :) moved my current system into it and decided it was time to take some pics for the gallery. Here it is :) - low RPM noctuas and s-flexes are my weapons of choice. Notice the "passive" HD4850 from gigabyte needs a slow 80mm fan to keep it below 95.c...

I got mine and it's running nicely even when the core temperature reached 115C after an hour of gaming at its default overclocked frequencies and standard voltage. The small fins sticking out from the rear of the card get really hot so the cooler is doing its thing. The openness of my Stacker 810 c...

Please, Please steer clear of that gigabyte hd4850, get a acelero s1 and a reference hd4850. i bought that model recently and installed it into my system, temps idled at 90 and rose to 110 at load which caused the card to throttle back to 500mhz to cool off! its not as if i have terrible airflow eit...

i bought the 80mm and 60mm versions, both were very noisy at their default rpm, very growly sound on the 60mm version especialy. i used a resistor in series to bring the rpm of the 80mm down to around 1000rpm but it still had a noticable ticking sound up close. it was much quieter than stock and usa...

connecting pc to tv
hi all, i have just built a media centre pc for my home living room, fairly happy with the computer but i overlooked one big thing. my tv can only accept composite video, so text is unreadable at resolutions of above ~640x480. i didnt know composite was so crap before today lol, any way i have 2 que...
