Re: I want a quiet 2.5" HDD

The Seagate ST500LM012 is actually a Samsung HN-M500MBB, it's even printed on the label of the HDD itself. Thanks. Does the label also say "Seagate" or is it the original Samsung label? Strangely both brand is printed on the label!! Seagate ST500LM012 is printed in bigger font, while below the Sams...

Re: Corsair Obsidian 550D Quiet Mid-Tower Case

Hi! Regarding Corsair Obsidian 550D, I have a question. If I don't want to use the side vent grills at the side panel and at the top, then the matching fillers, which are closing the holes, are included by factory with the case package? So if I want the ventilation come in only at front, and go out ...

Re: I want a quiet 2.5" HDD

Seagate Momentus SpinPoint M8 500GB (ST500LM012) (2.4 Bel) I'm confused because when I search for this model number I'm finding both Samsung and Seagate. Which is it, or is it both??? Yeah, it's both Samsung and Seagate because as CA_Steve said, Seagate purchased Samsung on HDD side. The Seagate ST...

I have 2 kind of 500 GB single platter 2.5" disk: - Toshiba MQ01ABD050 500GB (17 dBA) - Seagate Momentus SpinPoint M8 500GB (ST500LM012) (2.4 Bel) The Toshiba MQ01ABD050 is definitely quieter compared to the Seagate ST500LM012 when talking about the idle hard disk spinning. I mean these: - WD Red 1TB WD10EFRX (3.5", 1 platter, spec says 21 dBA) - Toshiba MQ01ABD050 500GB (2.5", 1 platter, spec says 17 dBA) - Seagate Momentus SpinPoint M...

Thanks a lot for answer for you all!

Then it's OK. The OEM packaging was just surprising because we didn't know that it is delivered as "bulk". I'm using 3 of the S12-II, and it came with all the fancy stuff.

Thanks a lot for infos. Then I'm not worrying anymore.

It does have powerplay enabled and clocks down to 165MHz core and 250MHz memory. E5300/5400 have even smaller Die size, and newer stepping, so they must draw very little power. Only thing that they have 2 MB L2 cache, and 800 MHz FSB, and they do...
