I m looking for the same thing, or a 4-pin MB-style to 4-pin GPU-style adapter. I can't believe they are not out there, but I've been Googling and browsing for one for two nights already and haven't seen one. I have an Accelero S1 r2 on my Sapphire 4870 board, something I did because the board's ow...

Hi it is possible to use a 4 pin PWM fan such as the arctic cooling ones that they supply with the arctic freezer pro 7. From this article http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/Graphics/8800GT_TR_HR-03_with_Fan.html they say that the order of which the wires are: NVIDIA <---------------> Arctic Cooling mini-P...

Hi, i think it's possible an adaptor exists but don't know where you'd get it. You could cut the original one off and plice/join/solder the wire for new fan in to it. You could see is can get another stock heatsink off ebay to take fan connector off if don't want to damage your own otherwise think ...

the artic cooling S1 fits by a hair :) and airflow lets me run HD4870 passive, temps are ok 70 for gpu and 90 vrm. What did you use to stress your 4870? I have a Scythe Musashi and with the fans at max speed my 4870 vrm temps still went to 100°C+ and that's where I stopped stressing just to be saf...

if you have a fan controller give San Ace 109R1212H1011 a look made in Japan by Sanyo Denki although this is not silent fan unless you run it at around 7 volts but still move good amount of air at decent static pressure http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=33...

I purchased the Typhoons for teh sole purpose of having a quiet fan in a restrictive airflow environment (themochill pa120.3 radiator), and in that respect it's performing brilliantly. The majority of noise from my PC (which sits on my desk about 40cm from my head) now comes from the 90mm Nexus Fan...

Any new silent air cleaners / purifiers?
Does anyone know if there are any new "silent" air cleaners/purifiers out in the market?
Or is the Bionaire Permatech #BAP4010 (noted by Bluefront) still the current choice for an air purifier?
Anyone have any experience with IQ Air Purifiers? They look pretty decent..

How much power would I need for 20 hard drives?
I plan on building a storage server and I just tried using the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator. The recommended PSU wattage was ~900W. Is that much power necessary?
The hard drives I plan on using will be Seagate 1.5TB 7200.11's.

Re: Accelero S1
What about the good old Accelero S1. I had an HD3870 with one of these in my LC16. I mostly ran it with out a fan but you can still fit a 80MM fan. If you bend it to go over you card rather than away (like mine) you can perhaps even fit a 92mm fan for extra cooling (depending on slot space) I can e...
