Re: How to downgrade 3770 to 3770s.
The two are not that much different i7-3770 E-1 3.4 / 1600 / 650 4 core: 3.7 3 core: 3.8 2 core: 3.9 1 core: 3.9 i7-3770S E-1 3.1 / 1600 / 650 4 core: 3.5 3 core: 3.6 2 core: 3.8 1 core: 3.9 The 3770 probably has 1.100 V at turbo multiplier 3.7Ghz and 3770S something like 1.07 V at 35x. 2x 0.015V fo...

Re: Underclock
Prime95 is for stress testing. In sandy bridge every CPU ratio(multiplier x 100= CPU frequency) has certain factory voltage (SVID) associated with it and for number of cores activated. It adjusts CPU multiplier depending how much work needs to be done. But you don't need to know that, just enter the...

Re: Underclock
The CPU Voltage drops with the Ratio. The lower you set the CPU ratio in the bios, the lower is the voltage. For example Dual-Core Sandy bridge has CPU package power consumption of 25 watts @ 2.5Ghz 1.05V under Prime95 Load. Passive cooling should be possible in some cases, assuming it will never re...

I asked X-560 owner and he suggested that the grounding or the electrical grid was bad. Or could it be that interferes with something else on the grid.. X-560 has some whine too. This is much worse.

BD-based APU will be what BD is, inferior to last gen phenom, athlon x3 with HD7350 likewise. CPU performance per watt will be 3x times less compared to IVY, unless they employ 28nm but still who would want that.

There is no simple belief, we demand screens, benchmarks and proof. H61 doesn't budge above 33x for me, the default ratio of 2500K. And H67 as far as we are yet to see other confirmation besides, some sources state that it goes to 37, but only as bios option, not in real life. I am waiting the H75 a...

Advanced voltage settings: Set DVID CPU VOltage to minus (-) 0.200 or -0.150 (depending what is the default VID of the CPU to result 1.00-1.05V)

The intel board is 6 watts more power savvy in idle.
And it boots fast with 3 special Bios optimisation settings enabled under the boot menu. /bios update needed/
Only 2105 and 2500K Cpu's include HD3000.

Outstanding SPCR review, but the OCZ low voltage is actually outdated 1.8V DDR3 marked as 1.65V probably 60/70nm DDR3 that draws more power. it would have been better to use some mainstream DDR3 based on 30/40nm. My PC 2500K with SS-400ET. draws 49 watts AC 220V from the wall. ~ 35 Watts DC. by remo...

Re: Sandy Bridge, Part 2: Intel DH67BL & Asus P8H67-M EVO
That will likely refer to the fact that you can adjust the multiplier DOWNWARDS in the BIOS. There is a lot of cut and past and ambiguity in manuals at times so better to rely on the hands on reports. That doesn't make sense since the manual states the multiplier depends on CPU used. What does the ...

Yes of course, it is in fact the end, and it is the checksum:o
Mine stays to 20% upto 60C, then ramps up, to reach 72C and 50%
I guess there could be set less than 80%, for different ramp, whatever logic works.

I would have changed 28 to 14 following your advice, but there was also something esle changed from 8B to 9F, what it does is unknown.

During summer, 86F room temperature the VX450 starts to ramp up the FAN rpm at 150W AC / 125W DC power as opposed to 300W AC at 66F.
I guess it doesn't get that hot at your location though.
VX450 can even handle 44A wich is crazy, efficiency suffers. That is why they labelled it 450W instead of 550.
