Ok so I got the 212+. It seems to cool very well. Only problem is the fan is extremely annoying. Even at 800rpm it has this really high pitched annoying bearing sound. I thought it was electrical noise from my power supply at first but I narrowed it down to the fan. The noise just gets louder and lo...

Cooler master 212+ seems good: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/19383-cooler-master-hyper-212-plus-cpu-cooler-review.html +1 on the Hyper212 Plus. Installation was easy, and while it does have a backplate, at least it doesn't involve gluing it to the motherboard. I fear...

Are there any good quiet HSF's out for this platform yet? I couldn't find any, including adapters.

Is there a comparison with the p182? yes I know the lab has changed since the p182 review and this is probably too much to ask, but a temperature comparison with it to see if the new holes are effective would have been nice.

It's kind of loud by default but if you change the fan speeds (easy to do and temps don't change much) it's very quiet.

Has anyone tried this case? It has two 18CM fans (in the front and top) and has sound damping material on both side panels. With the fans undervolted I think it would cool a powerful gaming rig quietly. http://www.silverstonetek.com/products/p_contents.php?pno=FT01&area=usa http://www.silverstonetek...

I haven't found my GTX 260 to be as "silent" as this article suggests. At idle @ 40% fan speed, it's similar to a dull roar and is easily the loudest thing in my system, and my computer is far from silent! Quiet gaming system?

I have an E6600, overclocked 320mb 8800GTS, 1 WD2500KS hard drive, etc in a P182 case. I got rid of the 3 tricools and replaced them with 2 Scythe Slipstream 800s, one on the top rear and one as a middle intake on the top HDD cage. While it's relatively quiet, it's still not where I want it to be. T...

It sounds like you have a very rapid change in temps in the aquarium, which is harmful for the fish. Comets are coldwater fish so I'd imagine they won't like high temps. How to eliminate P182 top vibration?

I only have one hard drive, a WD2500KS that's screwed into the grommets, but the top panel vibrates and often turns into a hum, even though there is no fan mounted there! Pushing down on the top eliminates this humming, but I'm surprised because practically no other part of the case is vibrating and...

When you use an exhaust fan at the back of the P182, YOU HAVE TO block the top opening, else there will be a "air short" : your exhaust fan will draw air from there and not from your case. I actually kept it open. I had it sealed but I'm using the stock intel HSF (piece of crap), and it was way too...

No, they're all at 12v. It's a mechanical noise. I'm guessing that it's slightly rubbing against something because you can recreate the noise with the fan off by slightly pushing it in and out. It seems to be better now, I'll see how it behaves later on.

Scythe Slipstreams - clicking

One of my Slipstream 800rpms developed a clicking seemingly overnight. What seems to happen is that as the fan is turning, it slightly moves in and out, creating a noise. You can recreate it easily just by moving the blades with your finger. It keeps getting worse and worse, and now I can sometimes ...
