Re: Lian Li A10 | i7 2600K | GTX570 build
Any update to this build? I'm about to start an identical build with the same case and components and would love to see how this one turned out. Yeah fair call. Sorry about the delay, haven't been around SPCR for a while. So far I've been amazed with the performance of the A10 as a silent case - it...

Lian Li A10 | i7 2600K | GTX570 build
Hello SPCR, I first became interested in the quiet computing scene with the purchase of my first computer back in 2008 - a Core2Duo E6750/8800GTS build in an Antec P180B. Having grown up with jet engine-like family computers, I jumped at the chance to turn things around and ended up with the followi...

Acoustipak made an enourmous difference in terms of DVD drive noise, this is awesome as I watch a fair few movies on the computer. Also quite good in terms of HDD seeks and general noise. Will try unplugging the CPU fan and seeing if that makes any difference. To give you an idea of how cool temps a...

Phantom's P180B Build
Hey all. First up, I'd just like to say a big thankyou to everyone here at SPCR. From the reviews to the forums, everything has just been a massive source of inspiration and help :) I first put together this computer in about September 2007. There are a few pics of it in this stage, though it didn't...

The foam on the side panel indeed does touch the heatsink top, but does not feel dangerously over-pressured. It has not adversely affected temperatures in any way either. I'm just a bit more careful now when opening or closing the case. The foam has actually helped seal the gap stretching between t...

Just had to add in my 2 cents' worth. Using Mojo's copy of the BIONIC_EARS duct, my GPU temps dropped a solid 6-7C. I was amazed to say the least. While I can't run the 8800 fan any slower (stupid Vista won't let me install RivaTuner or ATITool), I'd encourage anyone out there with a stock 8800 to m...

Just wondering how your HDD temps are with that setup tutu? I too am looking at getting some Slipstream 800s, my TriCools are finally annoying me just a little too much. At the moment I'm thinking one at the back, one at the front as an intake and one in the lower chamber. Originally I tried blockin...

Nice setup Konnetikut :) Very impressed with your cable management, it's become a bit of an obsession and I've copied a few of your tricks with the lower HDD SATA cables. I was wondering where you've routed all your front panel connectors and especially (if you are using it) the front panel audio co...

Look around the forums, lots of people (including myself) have made paper shrouds for their 8800 series cards. They force air from the internal vents out the back via the lower PCI slot. This may seem like a silly question, but couldn't a lot of the effect of exhausting the hot air straight out of ...
