Re: [What] low power Ivy cpu to get?
Ive installed the Xeon E3-1220V2, and just done some minor testing. and so far its a beauty, its does 3,2ghz@0,88V so its very nice. tried some quad F@H and cpu hits 58 celcius passive with the noctua NH-L12. allso experimenting with no psu fan, its just mounted upside dow, and generates almost no h...

Re: [What] low power Ivy cpu to get?
Sorry, had to run so didnt finish :) what I ment to say was that i do not play, to many hardcore FPS games such as BF3. its mostly RPG's as skyrim, oblivion, whitcher 2 and so on. so Im not to sensitive when it comes to fps drops. but i do want them to run as smooth as possible @ ultra 1440p and 108...

Re: [What] low power Ivy cpu to get?
Considering your case and the 244W TDP GPU you've stuffed in it, I don't think the 95W CPU was your problem I do not put a 244w gpu in a 10 liter case and cange the cpu for a cooler system :) case has a ghetto mod with the gpu cooler Accelero Xtreme PLUS II located externaly and minimum rpm. anny h...

Re: What low power Ivy cpu to get?
After reading the article on guru3d about cpu preformance during high resolution gaming ive desided that i do not need such at powerful cpu as the 2500K since it does not give anny more FPS. what i do ned is a cooler one. http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-7970-cpu-scaling-performance-review/8 ...

Re: How loud is a GTX 570?
asuming 570=580. The gtx 580 it comes with different minimum fan speed. some has a minimum fanspeed @ 40% and some has a lower minimum. so u need to read up and buy from the right poduser. my gigabyte 580, has a 40% minimum and idles @ 41 celcius. needless to say that 20-30% would be more than enoug...

seems that the card has a strange bios thats messing with the clocks goes up and down during idle http://bildr.no/thumb/757308.jpeg What were you doing at the time? Looks pretty normal to me. S2 doesnt fit. the sapphire has allmost 1" tall wrm heatsink, but it fits between the fins og the s1. i think a S1 fits without anny mod, maby its 1-2mm to long. my S1 was modded ...

Sorry, bad english what i ment is that because of its physical attributes, bigger fan and heatsink everything points to a better preformance reagrding sound levels. measurements from techpowerup points to it. and if its a great card it will be discussed here in the forums for sure

PowerColor HD 6850 PCS+ seems to be quieter than ASUS Radeon HD 6850 Direct CU under load. Powercolor fan is huge, can it be a 10cm fan? it really should preform better. cooler also has more fin areal it seems?? http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_6850_PCS_Plus/images/card1.jpg http://...

micksh; I could not find any fan controlling utility from Sapphire. Honestly, default fan behavior is good enough for me. If someone gives me a link to some utility I could test it.
