I got the DS3P rev 2.0. The NB heatsink doesnt link to the power regulators though. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/Image/motherboard_productimage_ga-p35-dq6_1.0_big.jpg Its the same size as that one minus all the pipe leadin to the other parts and the silentpipe cover covers the whole length in...

Re: Nice work

If I were going to plug up one of the fan openings on the P180/P182 cases, it would be the rear one. Simply put, "heat rises." I have modded many cases over the years to add fans in the top of the case pointed upwards. Sorry for bring up an old topic. We all know heat rises but everyone has differe...

I once unplugged a fan from a fan controller. The fan controller had an extension with its pins exposed and it touched the case. Made a bit of a stinker and smoked up. That was the last of that fan controller.

Sorry my fault I didnt look at your diagram correctly but yea that should work, just don't take my word for it because I've never fitted the heatsink in reverse before. But judging by pictures it does look like it only overs up 1 slot above the video card. Regarding the passive cooling of it, I only...

Hey Fungi, did you try the SI128 and Ultra90 on the same system with same CPU? If so would you happen to have rough temperature estimates of both? I do agree that tower coolers cools more efficiently but I'm curious as to how much a performance difference it is. Just find it hard to find reviews tha...

The HR03GT takes up 2 adjacent slots (3 if you add a fan which you should as its not great for passive, try the accelero s1 if you wanna go that path). I believe the S1 takes as much space as the HR03 but works better than the HR03 passive. If you do want to keep the HR03 you might try mountin the t...

Top down heatsink or tower heatsink?

As the topic says, I can't make up my mind. Where I went from is an XP-90, and just yesterday I bought an si-120 for AU$10 but the performance is more or less the same. Now I'm thinking of throwing away more money on the Ultima 90 which is AU$56 but I'm not sure if it make much difference. Does anyo...

I'd try the 8800GT on stock cooling before you pay for an additional cooler, the fan is pretty quiet under normal useage. I'd agree unless you like to look at low temps (like I do). Stock cooling IF you adjust the fan settings (rivatuner) temps are fine. Only time when it gets real noisy is during ...

I think the Aurora is ugly myself. I like the Antec 900, reminds me of the Tumbler from Batman Begins. The P180 is kind of blah now. Though it is a home run of a case on the inside. I do like the chrome one still though. I think the crowd here tends to be older (myself included) and favors a more p...

i thought the s1 took up as much space as the hr03. The s1 works better passive than the hr03, or so I'm led to believe.

The hr03 has the option of bringing the HS over the top of the card.
