I dont think it queries the CPU, at least it didnt back then, dont know about now and even if it does it may not be as accurate as one might think.
I remember one classic error when SSSE3 was wrongly being detected as SSE4 back when C2Ds were launched.

Well, the latest spec update says that E7200 (SLAPC), has C2E and C4E but does not say anything about C3E. bit-tech recently tried to see what kind of power savings C2E/C4E would offer but unfortunately they couldnt get C4E working on the GA-EP45-DS3R motherboard so it made no difference in power co...

ATT BETA 1.5.8.2250

Already implemented:
1. Temperature reading
2. Overclocking with voltage control (on 4850 you can set one step higher voltage than stock 3D voltage. Tested by me with multimeter
3. FAN control

I have one here, it spins at 2000RPM but it's quite noisy. It only gets "silent" at 1300~1500RPM

1,225V when C1E disabled and 1,087V when enabled.

Yes RMClock displays a drop in voltage when idle.

Now with dual channel memory controller!

I wonder if the power consumption has improved over previous chipsets.

I also hope it overclocks just as good as Intel chipsets.

The problem is while the FSB was overclocked via SetFSB, the board wouldnt resume after going into standby, even if it resumed I'd have to increase the FSB in just a few steps, going from FSB800 to FSB1333 via script could sometimes crash the system.

The 40% threshold might not apply to all boards I guess. The P5B-PLUS I had certainly had that threshold with E4500 CPU. I also heard that ASUS P5E-VM HDMI will set a fixed CPU voltage as soon as you overclock, please check this thread over RightMark Forums. As for the pin mod, it didnt work with th...

Yeah GB doesnt have such limitation. It will however disable Speedstep if you manually choose a CPU Voltage, just like all other boards. I noticed that the ASUS board tends to override the "Auto" option when the FSB is 40% beyond stock, at least that's what happened with the FSB800 CPU. The Q6600 is...

AFAIK if you push the FSB too high, the board will automatically overvolt the CPU Voltage... even if the CPU Voltage is set to "Auto"... damn you ASUS ! I had a E4400 CPU (FSB800) and Speedstep was fine up to 280MHz (1120MHz) or 40%, anything beyond that CPU voltage wont drop, the board will take ov...

if the temperature is rising then you might be having some cooling problems
the other temperature is probably "CPU"

I forgot to say that F4 was only available for board revisions 1.0 and 2.0... I know that 2.1 has 2 BIOS chips so even if you flash the wrong version the board might boot using the backup BIOS chip but youll have to test 60ºC isnt all that hot, it is just warm, normal temperature. I usually idle/lo...
