That's where Xiggy's own Crossbow ATI-775 comes into play. It's a mounting kit to allow their HDT heatsinks free orientation on AMD boards, just like they do on Intel.
Still, if size is not an issue to the OP, I'd go with Mugen 2.

You don't specify what your TRUE needs to cool, but my TRUE has a Scythe S-FLEX 800rpm fan on it and cools a Q9450. Never bothered to tweak anything in this combo and haven't got any problems with it. Does your S-Flex spin slower than 800RPM when idle? OP's cooler is a TR Ultima-90, not TRUE. More ...

I just checked, in my city I can get only the GT 1450rpm , not 1800rpm. but it's bad isn't it? I can also find in our stores slipstream 1200 rpm, and Arctic Cooling AF12025 PWM. which one is better? I need mostly silence, cooling is very important too tough [= if there's need , I'll take 2 fans. Yo...

Re: Help choosing fan for TRUE (ultima-90)

oh and are those 5 fans that I mentioned able to lower/increase the RPM according to the cpu temp. ? I don't wanna change the RPM manually =\ To do that the fan needs to be PWM (4 pin). Only the AC fan of those you mentioned is PWM. I have the S-Flex 1600RPM cooling my Thermolab Baram, connected di...

Almost forgot. For ideal cooling, I recommend getting a better thermal paste. I've heard that the sachet of paste that comes with the Mugen 2, and all Scythe coolers for that matter, is average at best. I wouldn't want the paste to bottleneck the heatsink performance.

Miriam:
Scythe coolers don't come with retention brackets. With the exception of Mugen 2, you would still need to use the original 478 bracket with their products. Mugen 2 comes with a universal backplate, negating the need for a bracket.

Scythe Mugen 2 is the only cooler I know that uses backplate *and* supports 478. I'd just get an aftermarket cooler than get a used 478 bracket.

I built a Biostar uATX system (790GX XE) and can say that Zerotherm FZ120 does allow enough clearance for NB heatsink and (standard height) DIMM in slot 1. It orientates correctly too.

Zerotherm Zen FZ120S. Using it for a Biostar 790GX board, fan blowing to the rear of the case.
Though there's not as many HSF options for AMD users, we fortunately have some good models that support the corect alignment. All of the forementioned units are considered to be the better coolers.

I always run some type of surface scanner/eraser before even partitioning a new drive. Look up MHDD. Been using this command-based DOS tool for years. It's fast and it can also do low-level format and change AAM, but requires the target drive to be set as master. Have also tried HDTune's surface sca...

Thanks all, Anyone know if -Zerotherm Zen -Scythe Ninja 2 -Scythe Mugen 2 Generally have any clearance problems? I have an ASUS M4A79T Deluxe board. According to the NH-U12P manf. website, it should fit my MB fine, so I'm leaning towards that. The Zen FZ120 with stock fan installed front-back preve...

I agree with Olle on not needing to upgrade the HSF if "OC'ing a bit" really means what it means. That Arctic Cooling should be enough as long as you don't go overboard with the voltages and you have proper case airflow. I'd also check out other reviewers (Mad Shrimps, X-bit Labs, Frostytech) in add...

Yeah, from what I understand the S1284 can't be orientated front-back but the Core Contact Freezer can. The FZ120 might be worth considering although I can't say I'm keen on sacrificing two memory slots and it doesn't come with an AM2 mounting clip, which has to be purchased separately. If you mean...

It seems rather tricky finding a decent AM2 cooler than can be orientated this way. I've seen some good reports on the Sunbeamtech Core Contact Freezer and I believe the Xigmatek S1284 fits the bill but I haven't read any reviews of that yet. From what I read, the S1284's 4 heatpipes aren't efficie...

I think MikeC mentioned in his review of the Antec Neo PSU about later revision that's free of the Asus compatibility issue. You might want to check his review here on SPCR. IIRC, it's revision 4 and that you can check on the PSU label near the bar code. The PSU could be dying. Had a friend's Silver...

Biostar TPower I45 CPU Cooling

Anybody knows if a full tower heatsink like Xigmatek HDT-S1283 on a Biostar TPower I45 will fit in an Antec Sonata II? Am planning on using this mobo with the old case. I think that the tower heatsink's height won't be an issue. My concern is with the space between the fins and the PSU, seeing how t...

Normally, I would agree. But the more I read about Channel Well, the more I discover they are akin to FSP - they manufacture PSU's for a lot of other OEMs (Corsair, OCX, etc.). Plus, the 80+ certification means they must be doing something right. I mean, shoddy design and craftsmanship do not usual...

edit: got confused which topic was which. Anyways, why do you guess it's the psu? Could be power fluctuations. Windows automatic reboots. BSOD's. +1. In my experience, random reboots most of the time are caused by anything but a bad PSU. If it were shutdowns or booting up issues, then I'd take a ha...
