88C is completely 100% safe for a GPU and your CPU temps seem quite low so don't know why you'd need any more fans..

Re: OOPS! 6850 -> 5850 and Power Supply/AMP concerns

If you don't OC, you are more than fine. I'm running an OC'd E4500 and OC'd Radeon 6850 on my Seasonic 330W. My system most likely draws more power than yours.

Thanks micksh.

Yeah I was confused 'cause both of my displays were detected when I swapped them around. I hope I can sort this out now.

Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 very silent and not even vapor-x

Well it was going too well with this upgrade of mine. It was too good to be true. So what is wrong? The damn thing doesn't detect my HDTV while it's connect via a DVI-VGA cable. My 3850 detected the TV instantly but clicking 'detect monitors' does nothing here. Just tells me I only have one monitor ...

Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 very silent and not even vapor-x

Just got my Sapphire 6850 1GB today and man was happily surprised there was a 1.8m HDMI-cable included. And the performance is awesome compared to my old Radeon 3850. I'm loving it. What about noise? :mrgreen: Can't hear it over the rest of the system while idle. In my opinion the sound of the fan ...

Well Gigabyte has their passively cooled HD5770 heatsink monster. I've been thinking about getting it. But I do like to overclock every possible part and I'm not sure how well it would do in that regard.

With prices like these, X-400 fanless 158 euros X-650 167 euros X-460 fanless 186 euros X-750 190 euros can someone justify buying the fanless models? Looking at the X-650 review, outside the hotbox, the unit is effectively fanless at least to 300W. The next step is 400W where it's 16 db. I'm mainly...

Looking at the info, the thing I notice is that your wife's laptop and the TV have the same resolution. When you connect your PC to the TV and have cloned the picture, set the resolution to 1360 x 768. Have you done this? Not helping? Other than that, I don't know.

I'm a big fan of Corsair, but I just don't like this product as it's kind of like the worst of both worlds. Whether the pump was defective or not doesn't make a difference here. There's a chance that a noisier pump is also a less efficient pump. I mean, if our sample is noisier than usual, it's possible that the thing also doesn't pump as well as usual. Until we get a another sample to examine, we really...

Whether the pump was defective or not doesn't make a difference here. This solution is not a good value when you look at how it performs. Even if you throw a high speed fan like the stock fan on it, it still performs worse than top HSFs and is loud as hell. And costs more.

It's a PS2 emulator. But the answer was in the following post. Fast memory is required for overclocking headroom so you're not limited by your RAM when overclocking. And of course benchmarking.
