Re: Reserator + Ati 5970 ....

I am currently using a dual Reserator setup. I was lucky I guess that I bought the first one on offer then got the second one (just the tower) for the cost of shipping £13. I have changed the pump in it to an Eheim 600. The standard one is an Eheim 300 (600 and 300 litres per hour respectively). The...

Re: P180 Build with heavy "padding"

Yeh I was pretty lucky to get the second (blue one) very cheap from someone. I just cover the postage costs at £12 and it was mine! Works pretty well as the first resorator to get the warm water is the blue one which gets pretty warm then by the time it's in the second one with the pump the tower on...

Re: P180 Build with heavy "padding"

Now into the third incarnation with this machine. Still the same in terms of: P180 case Q6600 8800GTX 4GB OCZ Reaper RAM 750GB Samsung F1 drive Things changed: XFX 780i SLi Mobo (water blocks on NB and SB) Added a second resorator tower Upgraded pump in main tower to an Eheim 600 (was a 300) XFX 650...

Re: Definitive Answer Needed: 2 pumps with a Resorator?

Hi there. I have two reserators in series and my system is like this: Res. 1 v2 with eheim 600 pump -> Zalman block on Q6600 -> EK block on 780i SLi Northbridge -> EK block on 8800 GTX -> EK block on southbridge -> Res. 1 (the original blue one) then back to the res v2. Been running like that for ab...

Although not a totally fair comparison I currently have two Reserator Towers (Res. 1 and a 1 V2 with one standard pump in the 1 V2) cooling my PC: Q6600 G0 stepping 8800GTX XFX 780i SLI mobo with northbridge and southbridge waterblocks. It handles them just fine even with gaming for several hours. I...

Hi. Yes I am using a Zalman ZM-GWB 8800 GTX/Ultra water block. It is very impressive to look at I think and it pretty huge as it covers the whole card to cool the memory etc. It certainly does a damn good job at cooling the thing. Shame they don't do them for more cards as they are a good cooler and...

Second Update

Right here's another update. Just to give you an idea of the cooling capacity of two of these towers: I now have the NB and SB of my EVGA 780i SLI motherboard cooled along with the Q6600 and 8800GTX and all with one standard pump (Eheim 300). The temps are as follows: Idle (sat on idle for 2+ hours)...

I think with a card like that the only way you will get it quiet is with an aftermarker cooler. The stock coolers on most of them are pretty good but let down by a buzzy little fan that needs to spin fast to get a decent volume of air moving. I would budget for an after market cooler of some descrip...

Update on my watercooling system. Since installing a new motherboard my CPU temps have dropped a fair bit. It used to idle rock solid at 35c and now idles at 28c. The only thing I can think is that the WB wasn't seated on the CPU properly before. The GPU temps have stayed exactly the same. I'm not g...

If the current cooling solution on the motherboard is good then I would leave it be. Suppose you want to keep as much heat out of the water system as possible. I've been thinking about getting a second pump and separating it into two loops. One for CPU and one for the GPU. It would increase the cool...

I have two reserators in my set up at the moment. On V1 and one V2 with just one pump in the V2. I have a Q6600 and an 8800GTX being cooled by it and it does bloody well. My CPU sits at 35c idle and gets up to 45-50c load. The GPU sits at 45c idle and and gets to around 55-60c under load. I only ove...

For a while now I have been trying to trace the source of a resonance in my case (P180) and it turned out to be the PSU or rather how the PSU sits in the case. There was a lot of vibration being passed from the PSU to the little platform that it sits on the lower chamber. I think the only way you wi...

Yes I obviously have more water in my system with having two towers. I noticed today while taking the bottom off one of the towers that there is a lot of blue deposits and gunk from the zalman coolant so maybe it isn't birlliant?! I have installed a bit of pipe inside each tower that makes the water...

Nice to see that your set-up is still working well! I may see about using WW when I come to change the coolant in mine (using the zalman stuff). Do you use it together with the coolant or in place of? I have a dual reserator setup on mine. A Res 1 V2 with a pump in and then just a V1 that I was give...

Wow.

Could be a very competant little machine for use as a media pc.

Just add a USB TV tuner or two and a USB media centre keyboard and remote and bobs your uncle.

Great that it supports HD video with such a small form factor.

Wonder what the prices are like?

The best stuff to dampen the sound would be the thick 'eggbox' stuff.

Although I would be tempted to combine that with the first link- the bitumen pads.

Also Maplin are doing a couple of kits of sound absorbing stuff:

Hope this helps.

Didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I would post in here. I too want to know if you guys think the Reserator 1 V2 will cool my system. It will be cooling a Q6600 G0 stepping (no OC) and a 8800GTX (again with no OC). I know that the 8800GTX is a pretty hot card so want to make sure before ...

Thanks for that. The only reason I thought to put the rad after the res/pump was that I read somewhere that the pump adds a certain amount of heat but this must be minimal really. I have decided to go for an XSPC RS360 rad as reading further into it the Black Ice stealth isn't very well suited to lo...

Water cooling in p180 advice/tips

hey there guys. Basically I would like to go back to watercooling for a couple of reasons. I havn't watercooled since my OC'd P4 HT and havn't really had a need for it since. I have had my P180 build for a while now and the specs are as follows: Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9-SLI Q6600 G0 Stepping (with Xigma...

That is quite possibly the neatest PC install I have ever seen.

Love the colour scheme btw.

Also love all the Thermalright stuff I think it looks very clean and neat and it must be pretty silent due to only haveing a couple of fans.

Don't know how many degrees have been added by using the foam as I havn't taken any measurements before.

But my idle temps are:

CPU: 36
HDD: 32
GPU: 48

Will get some load temps some time.

Some pretty good stuff is:
